the deluxe editions are the best ones out. in the deluxe edition you get to see the cast of the movie talk about the making of the film for about 15 minutes. its great. FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE THAT BUY BOXSETS. YOUR ALL DUMMIES HAHA. KEEP WASTING YOUR MONEY BITCHES.

Thanks for the info, EP. 'The Final Chapter' and 'Jason Lives' are my two favorite sequels and 'A New Beginning' is definitely an underrated slasher in the series. The special features sound great and I'm hoping they can give us the unrated version of 'The New Blood,' but I think I'd settle for the deleted scenes like they did with the fourth film. After all, I think that's better than nothing. I enjoyed your review for these films and look forward to the next one. Stay blessed, dude.

I just bought it from Amazon..Already shipped out so they have it in stock..I have part 1 Blu Ray, 3 is on the way..I also bought 4 and 5 on DVD at Wal Mart..

As far as I can tell, non of the new deluxe editions are "uncut" except for the original. I hope they at least give us some dleted scenes for part seven coming up, that one was butchered the most by the MPAA to my knowledge. thanks dude!

It is one of the best in the series, great special effects, good sense of humor among the teens/college kids, good kills, a little bit of everything in that one. (probably not my all time favorite but very very close!)

i wonder if new line will put out re-releases of Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X (and maybe freddy vs. jason). i say only if they contain new special features.

i bet with the new nightmare on elm street remake coming out in april of next year, they will re-release all the nightmare movies too (NOES deluxe editions)

I think this remake business was really just to sell the new DVD releases of the other Friday 13th films. More effort and money was put into these re-releases than in the film.

I'm sooooo sorry for you with the Friday 13th remake. I know a great Friday 13th fan like yourself must have been dissapointed. It was very weak. The best kill in the film was Willa Ford's under the pier. I was laughing but clearly I shouldn't have been which shows how crappy this movie was. I have no idea how they screwed this film up so much for old timers like yourself. I'm sorry. It was really a remake of Friday 13th part 2 not of the original.

Did you get the Friday the 13th (2009) yet? I did get the Friday the 13th part 3 ( Deluxe Edition in 3d) in Blu Ray which was great considering part 3 is my favorite out of the series. I did noticed on the part 3 blu ray version they had a lot more extra features on it. It just seems unfair to the people who bought the dvd deluxe edition which only had the trailer on it.

The 3D in Blu - ray was much more clearer and the sound was awesome, but the 3D did have the same issues it on the DVD with blurrness and the ghosting effects. As far as the features go Fresh cuts: 3D Terror HD, Legacy of the Mask HD, Slasher Films: Going for the Jugular HD, and Lost Tales from Camp Blood part 3 HD. I liked how they mentioned the 3 different ending for the end of part 3. The filmed 2 different versions, and stuck with dream sequence with Kris, Jason, and Mrs. Vorhess

It seems like we had similar opinions on the new Deluxe Editions. If they'd trimmed away all the filler and put some meat into the movie specific special effects, they would have been great. But, still, pretty good.

i prefer these definitely over the barebone editions, but in retrospect i would probably call them " collectors editions" or "remastered editions" etc not "deluxe' . Still pretty good though. thanks dude!
