Telecaster Twangmaster Bill Kirchen paid tribute to Don and Buck ( and the Stanley Bros and Professor Longhairl) in his song Flip Flop on the album Raise A Ruckus- " Down at the county fair I heard Buck and Don- they sing like brothers- look like father and son". There are some live versions on YouTube and Bill mentions that Don was a big influence on him.
@happygospel - Buck would have been nowhere near where he went. Don was his right arm and when Don died in that motorcycle accident that was it for Buck, really. Thing is, nobody could be quite like Don - the guitar work was just amazing and flawless, the harmony with Buck and the match-up of their voices was immensely fortuitous: Perfect. And then there's the smiling spirit that shines through whenever Don is on camera. To have all of that in one person was Buck's immense good fortune.
@ScottShuster What's interesting is that on many of Buck's records, the harmony part is actually Buck over-dubbing himself. At least that's what I've read.

@NickRatnieks Bill Kirchen's version of "Hot Rod Lincoln" is just amazing. All his impressions of other guitarists are really amazing.

@Gatorrock787 You're absolutely right. If you listen close enough, you can hear the inflection in Buck's voice dubbed over itself.

I always loved Buck but wondered where he would be without the late great Don Rich. They are both missed.
