  • May 5, 2011 - Nobu recently toured the U.S. and performed Beethoven's "Tempest" Sonata - he will perform it at his Carnegie Hall debut in November of this year. It is -- as can be expected -- beautifully played. He said in an interview that he plans to learn all of Beethoven's 38 sonatas - and has already learned about 10 of them. I am hoping that he will record the "Tempest" on a CD soon.

  • UTTERLY MAJESTIC

  • There were people at the competition who thought Nobuyuki might have made a mistake in playing this drawn-out work of Beethoven's sonata for the semi-final. But it turns out that he impressed the chairman of the jury with it, Said John Giordano in 2010: "Nobu played the most difficult hour-long Beethoven piece flawlessly. For anyone, it’s extraordinary. But for someone blind who learns by ear, it’s mind-boggling.” I love this performance of this piece.

  • Very beautiful!
