  • Correct - Hunter and Northern NSW are looked after by the Westpac Helicopter and are staffed by ASNSW paramedics

  • Thanks for your comment. The Westpac Helicopter in Maroubra provides beach and coastal surveillance patrols. In an emergency they may be tasked to assist Ambulance or Police helicopters with a search or a rescue of a patient. However, they don't have Ambulance Service of NSW paramedics or a Doctor on board. In Sydney, aeromedical retrieval is the responsibility of the Ambulance Service of NSW.

  • @nswambulance so it is only the Hunter region and Northern NSW where westpac flies with paramedics?

  • why does the westpac helicopter rescue them but then transfer them to NSW ambulance helicopter? Happened a few times... Last time I checked the westpac helicopter had NSW paramedics aboard and was fitted in aeromedical retrieval...
