  • Leave this to Arhtur Lee and Bryan MacLean . This is noisy and not beautiful . OK nice try. At least someone knows a good song .. just leave good enough alone. Sorry just kidding...you guys will be alone tonight forever changes.

  • @11xzxzxz

you would probably think differently if you were at the concert. the sound quality does the cover no justice.

  • @vvarmjets OK thanks.

  • the cover from calexico for that same song is just great , they add trumpets and manage very well !!! who does know that here ???

Viva el calexico and the damned

  • To be perfectly honest, give The Damned credit for trying to cover this great song, but they fall far short on this. This is strictly

Arthur Lee & Love material .I saw them do this live several times.

  • yes but on vinyl they killl it

  • As UFO did there cover, it's not a big surprise seeing this, after all I believe Paul Gray who played bass in UFO's 80s reformation was a member of this band IIRC, I'm not up on The Damned's history, but they were covered by metal band Cerebral Fix (Bastards CD)

  • yes, brilliant, thanks

  • I was there ! Roman Jugg played guitar on the single, As luck would have it 5 years earlier I saw Arthur lee play the original version at the Limelight club across town

  • It's hard to believe this sweet song came from these blokes.

  • it didnt it was originally written by arthur lee of the band love

  • And recorded by UFO's Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, Pete Way and Micheal Schenker, Rudolf Schenker's brother (of Scorpions!!)

  • it was not written by Arthur Lee, but Bryan MacLean

  • sweet

  • The Damned are great the Black album is awesome, but there is a version of this by UFO and schenker plays the trumpet solo on guitar its as good as the original

  • Yeah, I still have a totally thrashed copy of Lights Out. And Forever Changes. I love crossing genres.

  • I only knew of the UFO version, that band was not afraid of covers since changing it's name from Hocus Pocus in 1969

  • brilliant

  • I love them but the "ba ba ba" instead of the sax...What am I saying...They're awesome..Long live The Damned!!!

  • Microbus99 it's not a SAX it's an f-ing Trumpet for christsakes!

  • great vids kev

  • The video clip version is a thousands better (voice singing, the way the play that guitar, etc), but thanks for for posting it.

  • If there's a promo clip, someone should post it here!

  • it is posted but its crap quality.

  • thanx
