  • Dr Preston defines "instincts" literally rather than loosely. I looked it up in the dictionary: "A fixed pattern of behavior in animals in response to certain stimuli, i.e., birds have an instinct to build nests. She is correct in her usage.

  • I Disagree with instincts, a very common one would be the instinct to survive and and feed one's organism however possible. Mothers have maternal instincts that kick in during pregnancy and after childbirth. I've seen this instincts in action and experienced them myself. When In dangerous situations I have a pattern of behavior very particular in which I try to preserve my life. It wasn't taught, but its there. Must be instinct right?

  • @tedoymisojos I didnt take into account post-partum depression, or mothers going crazy and killing their children :o so I guess maternal instinct is not that efficient or fixed anymore (...) Life preservation could still hold up even though there are suicides.

  • Thank you! Wonderful to know who we are.

    Blessing.

  • "...humans are like 2 year-olds in a sandbox with a nuclear reactor as a toy." You can't disagree with that statement.
