We currently have 15 cats, all of whom were dropped off at a young age. We always gave them flee baths and we've never had problems. I've been an avid cat owner for 10 years. A bath like this isn't going to kill them. Probably will save their lives.
Most cats hate getting soaked, but a flea bath is good for them! Especially for strays! They'll whine, mewing all the while, but it's for their own good. They'll be a lot cleaner for it and a lot healthier afterwards. And once they're dry, they'll feel much better than before!

They meowed like that all the time, they were very loud kittens, as you can see from my other video featuring these two. The water was lukewarm and shallow, the soap was baby shampoo which is safe for animals, and the bathing lasted maybe 2 minutes each after which they were dried and cared for in a warm room. This is not cruelty.
I really wish people would read the information at the top before going off on a rant. Abandoned kittens means no mother the clean off all the poop and dirt so foster homes have to do it.

bathing small kittens this way, i.e. soaking them, should be avoided. At such a young age they do not have the means to properly warm themselves up after and serious health problems can occur as a result.
If you have a messy kitten use a moist cloth to clean away the filth. It's OK if you make the fur a bit damp, on a small area at a time. Accept that it may take a few days, even a week, for all dirt and stink to go a way. Until then you have to just settle with cuddling with a lil' stinker.

@cincodoggy I am too. I have four cats. Asthma too. I take a pill (Zyrtec) and load up on the tissues. Plus, if you get a cat accustomed to getting a bath every week or every other week you can wash away all the dander an dried saliva that makes you crazy! I cover all the kitty beds with old towels and they can easily be replaced with new clean ones while the used ones go in the wash.
But I think to wash a cat, especially these tiny babies, you'd do it in the kitchen sink!

@regcav87 I'm wondering the same thing. I think, and emphasis on think, that you are supposed to hold them by the scruff of the neck the way their mother would and rock them gently. I also think water should be warm.

@cincodoggy I am too. I have four cats. Asthma too. I take a pill (Zyrtec) and load up on the tissues. Plus, if you get a cat accustomed to getting a bath every week or every other week you can wash away all the dander an dried saliva that makes you crazy! I cover all the kitty beds with old towels and they can easily be replaced with new clean ones while the used ones go in the wash.
But I think to wash a cat, especially these tiny babies, you'd do it in the kitchen sink!

@UltimateSyjin Only cats that are allowed outdoors get ticks or fleas. Usually a good brushing works.You know I think cats' don't like the water because they than have to lick themselves dry getting each and every hair in just the right spot and that must be a pain in the neck!

@xoio READ the description (and learn the definition of animal abuse). The kittens were abandoned, and didn't know how to bathe themselves. They were covered in dirt and their own feces. It's better for their own health that they were bathed. I've had to do the same with two cats: one was abandoned at 6 days old, I handfed her & taught her everything from self-grooming to using the litterbox. The other cat needed a flea bath since I couldn't get Advantage flea treatment right away.

@DavidUKesb Try reading the description. :D The kittens were strays, and were covered in filth (mud, feces) and didn't know how to clean themselves. It's better for the health of these kittens that they were bathed. I had to bathe an abandoned/stray cat I brought in to foster because she had fleas (it killed off most of them and was only a quick fix before I could get her a better flea treatment).

@caseyfornia Ok fair enough. I apologise as I hadn't read the full description. It just annoys me that Americans,and it only appears to be Americans, think it's a good idea to bath cats. In this case I accept it was necessary. In most cases it isn't and is actually cruel.
