Wow!!! I was blown away while watching his solo! Randy Rhoads will always be my favorite(no nothing to do with Ozzy) but Jake was truly jammin' and quite amazing! Nowadays there are so many incredible guitarists and one, who I imagine not too many people know about, is George Lynch who used to play with Dokken. Even way back then George could shred with the best of them!
Jake in full on BEAST mode. I prefer this tour to the Ultimate Sin tour because of this solo. 1:44 amazing....The good thing about him getting fired was the forming of Badlands.
Its a shame about shawn lane. But there would no vai or malmsteen or satch or lane if there was no eddie van halen. No guitarist today or past would be able to play or do the things we can do today if there wasnt a eddie van halen you can bank on that!

@jugulator0 YUP!! totally AGREE!! jake was one our main inspriation/influences and this was one awesome solo... i practice BATM solo for YEARS and every other song on that album unitil i just about nailed them...i love playing that entire album, and along with it, as often as i can.. i use it as a warm up... sharon was a fuckhead! it literally broke our heart when he left... not that zakk wasnt great in his own.. but JAKE was the BOMB!! still on the top of my top 5 gtrsts of all.

Surely you can't say that the 80's had NO derivative cash-in bands at all. There is as much fantastic music now as there has ever been, and there are just as many pointless knockoffs.
I miss the great virtuosos like Jake. There's lots of guitarists that could play this note for note, but it would be like listening to a MIDI version of it. It takes a special touch to pull off a trippy solo like this, have a blast doing it, AND breathe so much life into it.
the amount of technique and knowledge of musical sense is amazing. Jake E Lee isn't just a guitarist, he knows all the undertones of music theory. That's skill.

Jake is a great guitar player. Saw him play many times at Strait Ahead Sound back in the day, he was probably only about 16 or 17 at the time. But, bluehare101, he is no Randy Rhoades.
When you see him play, he looks like he's doing random garbage but he knows perfectly where he is, and what he's doing and that's amazing. Really good guitar player.
I saw this live in Columbia SC with Queensryche as the opener and it was mean and left scars . I haven't bought an Ozzy album since Killer of Giants . Everything else seemed like a joke to me .

Yeah, this is WAY better than listening to the same thing over and over again. I'm always hesistant to say that old music is all better than the new, but in the case of METAL, this is real. Not death metal screaming emo garbage. I'm sorry, but I just can't stand listening to pointless screaming, incomprehensible (and usually poor) lyrics, and even when the vocals are alright, the guitar is so limited it gets old quickly... people can say it's a different style, but they're trying to be "metal"..

@ecaravello Totally agree. And the best thing about that solo is that it also made sense. You can take the music away, play the solo by itself and it makes a musical statement. It's not just notes thrashing around. Feel sorry for the 84 dislikes.
