  • We make all mistakes and it's with the wrong mate, family member, or friend. I had this kind of problem and survived, unfortunately others don't. It's still a battle. We need to eventually face the truth and LEAVE the situation and get HELP!

  • Years ago, someone told me that this song was about him being in love with a teenaged girl.

  • Back when we still played instruments, and autotune was not alive.

  • you falling in love all the time, who say it's right or wrong but this is is good song.reminds me of growing up in the up-town- better time

  • If I had children they would be the best thing I ever had.

  • true words

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker

You need to chill the fuck out. Yeah, it's provocative, but that's why REAL PARENTS should do their FUCKING JOB and monitor what their kids listen to. The song is about an adult making a choice between loving someone or allowing society &/or beliefs getting in his way. This happens everyday. Your fight should be at the current crap that promotes violence/drug abuse/misogyny/ and utter foolishness that children of ALL races are listening to.

Stop making this a color thing.

  • At 1:36 He gat her!!

  • I love the song, but he looks high off the sauce...

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker

Spare me the your moral BS Country does the same lyrical music and I don't see the attacks. If you to attack anyone it's Lil Wayne, Beyonce, R. Kelly, Mary J Bilge and others for creating third- rate music in the last 20 years instead of this masterpiece of a song that's endured because it's great BLACK MUSIC.

  • A man is just expressing how he feels, no one can question a mans feelings. Who can tell a person who to fall in love with? Things happen.

  • Rhonda played this that night over and over

  • best song to ever be made i wish i was alive when this song was performed by him

  • boys, u wanna get the girls...study THIS mans music...and parrractice singing!!!!

  • wow what a huge crowd.

  • black soul music crawls in side me

  • A #1 hit for Luther Ingram on the Rhythm & Blues charts. This was the 250th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #3 on the Top 40 charts.

  • Music like this was/is music indeed. Music like this is like the famous art pieces painted by the Renaissance painters. The beauty of soul musicianship is second to none... if only today's artists exemplify this kinda soulful gratification in their music, if we could only go back to a time that I wasn't even born to experience. As a side note, so many renditions of this song, I think this along with the GREAT David Ruffin's version are the best.

  • A stadium filled and Luther ain't shoutin to get the song out. Great vocal discipline.

  • not to play devils advocate, but people, lets not point fingers and be judgemental... because no one can control who they love... but they can control their actions. From experience, I have met someone who I was completely enamored by, utterly fascinated, and more... but if you care about them you wont jeopardize eachother's lives ... but just knowing what exist between is all that matters. we wouldnt feel that way if it wasnt for a reason... so lets stop the judgement.

  • Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy I need to pour a drink off of this one.... *closes eyes, feels the music*

  • Wattstax, bitches. Own it.

  • Music today basically sucks. This is regardless of genre. Rock, soul and everything else was better 40 years ago than today.

  • Lol I saw maybe that was her sister?

  • I didnt c michelle where was she?

  • That looked like Michelle Obama to me. Living in the memory.WLW

  • God this was a time when looks was secondary money was third.. A man or womans heart n soul was what mattered!! Video n media killed truth and love!

  • I dont know about you guys but I use that line all the time. "If loving (x) is wrong, I don't wanna be right"

  • LOL. What's Michelle Obama doing at a Luther Ingram concert? @ 3:13

  • @MrJimmi27 OMG dang that was funny!

  • @MrJimmi27 why not

  • The lyrics don't mesh with my morals, but I have to hand it to this singer, he sounds just like the record ! He's cool, the big crowd doesn't get him all overexcited and he's just ON on every note! He's bad !

  • THIS IS SIMPLY BRILLIANT! THIS MUSIC TOUCH THAT RARE SPOT IN OUR SPIRITS THAT WORDS COULD NEVER DESCRIBE. THIS EMPOWER THE A.A. TO FEEL THAT INNER MAGICAL BEAUTY THAT NO OTHER RACE POSSESS. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN MUSIC WAS ALL THAT WE HAD. THE FEELINGS EXPRESSED IS UNDENIABLY A GIFT FROM GOD. THANKS, maurice

  • you would have love living in the 70's it was out of sight good times

  • love this...

  • @action31000: Do you have any idea just how corrupt you sound? So in your twisted mind...people can just go around hurting other people because it is a tradition? You really need to get some morals and a sense of right and wrong. I feel sorry for people like you. Just remember you really do reap what you sow. Do you have any idea how many little kids suffered because their dads ran around with every woman he could just a baby making machine and taking care of none of them. You're sick!

  • @dareallyst: That's some ignorant shit you just said. See if you can get the majority of the Black women to agree to that. Even if you are straight up with them from the door. Just conduct a test and see how many females are gonna agree to share their man with another woman. You really didn't give that comment much thought.

  • is that at the watts uprising concert?

  • Souper soul classic performed live.

  • diggin it

  • This is what REAL music is. It deals with REAL situations, feelings & emotions. Some ppl will say the song is not morally right but It's REAL. People are in this kind of situation all over the world & songs like this Helps people cope with situations they are going through & most of the singers like Luther wrote music about things they was going through that's why their music was so heart felt & emotional ! I LOVE OLD SCHOOL! REAL MUSIC!

  • this song have so much feeling! I love the old school!

  • Ummm dareallyst--you only speak for yourself. Speaking the percieved opinion for a whole people who you can never know is just down right ridiculous. Im black and you damn sure dont speak for me.

  • Facts: 1951-2005 6'3" When Vandross was born, the doctor asked his mother what the child's first and middle names were. She had already picked Luther for a first name but hadn't thought of a middle name; there happened to be a box of Ronzoni spaghetti on the table next to her bed, so she told the doctor that his middle name was Ronzoni, and that is the name on his birth certificate.

  • 1:15 did he just watched his watch is he in hurry 4 somting

  • Really love that seventies soul !!!

  • This is one morally corrupt song....i just came here to say that. The man is talking about leaving his wife and 2 children to be with another woman. What about his family? The Black Community has so many cases of this....with children who never get to see their dad because he is on the other side of town shacked up. Nobody can justify that no matter how you try. Hell yea she wrong to give her love to a married man....he is already taken. 10 years later he'll be after somebody else leaving her.

  • @READY4REVELATION Not everything have to be morally right. You don't have to like it and you don't have to listen to. Yes it does speak volumes of cheating and lying, but hey, people been doing the shit for years. Its nothing new. My daddy did it. My uncles did it and my baby's daddit too

  • @READY4REVELATION It's okay to admit you came here cause you dig this song :D

But real talk, if you haven't noticed, monogamy seldom works for us (blacks). Like it or not, our natural state of being is polygamist. The problem is the men don't give the women the choice of being in a polygamist relationship or not. They do it and leave the other woman or women in the dark about each out. Then they find out about one another and all hell breaks loose when all he had to do was be open and honest.

  • Love this song!! Admiring all the beautiful AFRO"S in the audience : )

  • a song based on cheating and you dumbfucks are glorifying it. what a bunch of retards

  • Check out Nekfeu & Alpha Wann's Remix - Aux portes du succès, with a sample from this song, it's awesome!

  • This is a song of "them times" when a song digs into your core of your being and sends you flying among the clouds of feelings.Brother Luther gave us a gift which is everlasting and enjoyable !!!!

  • alguien podria traducir este exelente tema soul

  • moral of this story u cant help who u love it dont matter who say this or that love is love n aint shit u can do bout it even if the other person dont love u
