Wouldn't the intense heat and shock of the 7.62 charge cause the gold AK to sort of melt and break and stuff? I mean gold is a relatively soft metal, which is why it usually is not used in guns. The only possibility I could see gold on such a durable platform such as the AK-47, is if it would be mixed with another, more durable material.
