Anyone who feels that they have benefitted from SSRI's or other psychiatric drugs, has been brainwashed by the medical system. This is their intent. It's like someone in a cult preaching that it is wonderful and helpful, etc.. I repeat THE ONLY PURPOSE OF THESE MEDS IS DEATH. Eventual Death. Dumbing down of the population. Numbing the mind.
There are zero healing properties and zero treatment properties with these SSRI's. They are chemical toxins that attack the pineal gland (among other glands of the body). Lowering testosterone production, increasing fat production.. the Prozac, Paxil, et al,'s ONLY function is to trigger violence and/or suicide in patients. Psychiatrists are government murderers for the NWO. Higher levels of government want people committing suicide and comitting violent acts in society.
SSRI's are basically household COMET cleaner. Sodium Fluoride, Benzene and Chloride. The meds and treatment are designed to make a person feel weak and powerless (all the while throwing this "empowerment" stuff and "proactive" treatment of your "disorder") psychiatrists want to subliminally encourage people, or rather FORCE people to commit suicide. This is a major part of the New World Order, it all works through deception. The meds essentially kill your "spirit".. help to break the will.
dude i just subscribed to you....and i agree with what you have said in the videos i have seen so far...BUT, and this is a BIG but,,, you better not be a scientologist. i agree about what you think about these drugs, but Scientology is a sad joke.
While I agree that antidepressants can be very dangerous, if not fatal, I would have to argue that sometimes antidepressants can have the opposite effect.
I have personally lived a good life. I have amazing friends and an incredibly supportive family. I also believe through faith given to me by God that Jesus died for me and is my Savior :)...not to start a religous dispute. Unfortunately I became very depressed and suicidal. For me, Zoloft saved my life. I am doing well now! =)
anti depressants do not prevent suicide. this is not what they do. for example, an SSRI, by definition, inhibits the reuptake of serotonin found in the junction between neurons. This is what an SSRI "does." The same goes for the other drugs that are proven to have an effect on a CHEMICAL level of interpretation. These drugs do not, by definition, prevent a human behavior from occurring, such as the act of suicide. Psychiatrists are MDs. You have to be an MD to be one. ive wasted enough time.
No one in all the history of my family or my daughters dads family have ever committed sucide, my daughter was never sucidal and her death was a shock to our whole community. the day before she had gone to "therepy". She was put on lexapro for opitional disorder, basically she didn't get along with adults who "LORD" there authority over children. My family has had mental heath illness but NEVER has there been a SUCIDE! HEllo she was 11!
I was accused of being on meth when I was coming off of effexor! I also had zaps head trauma brain underwater burning and head pound like a hollow hammer sound also I would get tracers. this lasted over a year after quiting effexor,I first had these same problems on paxil. My 11 year old daughter commited sucide by hanging on lexapro july 04! All ssri's are dangerous and numb out and or dystroy nerons and sensors in the brain. And now the pharm. give so much $ to goverment meds never be pulled
You cannot infer from a slide that psychiatric medications cause more people to commit suicide. Ideally, those considering suicide have sought out treatment and many be taking medication as a result. You need to analyze the percentage of people ON medication who have contemplated OR attempted suicide and determine how many lives are being saved as a result of treatment(with or without medication.)
Keep watching the series of videos. There are three of them. The final video has a lecture by the Acting Director for the Center for Injure Prevention and Control of the CDC. See what she has to say about it.
It then would naturally coincide with the fact that people who actually commit suicide are more likely to be taking some form of psychiatric medication. Granted, in this case the treatment failed them; an unfortunate reality.
Data collected by the National Violent Death Reporting System does show that a higher percent of people who completed suicide were taking prescriptions for mental illness than people who were not on medication.
However, the ONLY way to even infer your argument that psychiatric medications caused or even contributed to the suicide of these victims is to compare how many people taking medication and ultimately committing suicide had contemplated or attempted suicide BEFORE starting treatment with how many people taking medication and ultimately committing suicide had NEITHER contemplated NOR attempted suicide BEFORE being treated with medication. This would then confirm or deny your "inference."
This is epidemiologically impossible to do. What you can compare is the increase in psychiatric prescriptions to the suicide rates and the suicide attempt rates. Those statistics look something like a 10,000 percent increase in SSRIs over the last two decades has resulted in a 10 percent decrease in suicides. However, According to CDC data, suicide attempts have actually increased over the same period of time.
At this point in time they are nothing more than mere hypotheses. Correlation DOES NOT indicate a causal relationship. You are simply using these statistics as propaganda for your argument against medication therapy. Please do further research before presenting this information in the manner that you are utilizing.
I made no argument in this video actually. I simply presented facts straight of the DAWN reports. There is a download link in the video description, you can look over the reports yourself. It is a fact that a large number of people attempt suicide with these drug or while taking them.
You are assuming I made the statement that antidepressants cause suicide. I never made such a statement. Of course, the FDA has required a black box warning on all antidepressants showing an increased risk of suicidality in children and young adults, but that was the FDA saying it, not me.
That's a really stupid example to attempt to prove your point since people dieing as a result of chemotherapy isn't uncommon. I didn't claim the drug killed people, I just claimed they do not cure anything and they do not prevent suicide.
I didn't say that you claimed the drug killed them, I was pointing out that it was the illness that kills them or drives people to kill themselves not the treatment.
And anti depressants does prevent suicide, but not in all cases. Can you tell me of something that does prevent suicide?
CBT addressing suicidality has better outcomes than standard psychiatric treatments addressing the "underlying mental illness". That's in the video. This isn't even my information it comes from the CDC. Your comments inspired me to post another video. See the Truth about Suicide part 1 and 2.
A little fact I don't mention in these videos is that even though the suicide rate has decreased slightly since the mid 1980s, according to the CDC, the suicide attempt rate has actually increased. More attempted suicides, less completed suicides. SSRIs are harder to OD on than older antidepressants such as tricyclics. Doesn't mean more people aren't trying though.
I recall that the reason the drugs were developed was because they were supposed to be difficult to actually succeed in commiting suicide with them. The drugs and the diagnosis seem to be a combination for hopelessness.
The reason the drugs were developed were to make money. Old patents expire and new versions of the drug or new drugs have to come out to rake in the billions. The fact that SSRIs are harder to OD on than tricyclics is a reason used to justify people buying more expensive new generation meds. The suicide attempt rate has increased by the way, since the mid 80s.
very interesting video. I actually had not known that most who committed suicide were on some medication, but I'm not entirely surprised. You're doing a good thing here.
Awesome video. It makes you have to ask questions, like, if CBT ( or similar therapies ) have a better success rate, why isnt *everyone* all over propogating CBT in the interests of public good.
It takes 10 mins to write a prescription for medication. The doctor makes money, the pharmaceutical industry makes money and it's fast. It takes hours for effective psychotherapy. The doctor doesn't make as much money and big pharma doesn't make shit. There is no money in curing someone, lots of money in long term medication management.
Also, you know it's kind of funny how clinical trials for medications always compare medications against sugar pills and not exercise or therapy or nutrition. Imagine if every antidepressants clinical trial had to compete against a trip to Disney Land. I think Disney land would win hands down in most antidepressants trials. Pharma won't test their drugs up against something that could actually potential cure someone or something that doesn't cost anything.
Yep, I have been saying 'there is no money to be made from well people' for years. I want to see antidepressants go head to head vs meditation, vs yoga, etc etc
I had a strong anti-drug feeling since day 1 of the "overmedicate movement." Drugs, in no way shape or form, represent the answer for the majority of mental health problems imo. We still are not fully educated on brain and all of its pathways, and to tinker with substances we "think" work, is dangerous and irresponsible. Psychiatric drugs imo, are as harmful as cocaine or liquor. This video confirmed what I already thought.
You bring up some interesting points. But you seem to point out that medication failed some people, but I suspect it is helping many people. The fact that there are failures does not mean that meds are useless. You kinda come across as an anti-medication advocate (e.g. Tom Cruise). What would be more interesting is to see how many people on medications do not take their lives compared to a control group on placebo. Otherwise, you're only showing one side of the arguement.
There is no way to measure how many people would have killed themselves and didn't really. You can compare the slight decrees in the suicide rate trend since the 80s to the number of prescriptions but it would be like saying for each 10,000 antidepressant subscriptions we had one less completed suicide. Thats an underestimation. Suicide attempt rates have increased actually. Also, the suicide rate in the 50s was half of what it is now and there were almost zero antidepressant use then.
How can you throw out a stat like that? You're again implying that in 50 years there is only 1 factor which affected the prevalence of suicide--anti-depressants. That is just bad science. You're using real stats but your logic and statistical methodology is unthinkable illegitimate. I have no doubt you mean well, but this is just bad math and bad science.
Since SSRIs came out in the mid 80s, the suicide rate has decreased slightly, however, the suicide attempt rate has increased significantly. SSRIs are much harder to OD on than Tricyclics. That's really the big improvement in psychiatry in the last 20 years; They have come out with antidepressants that it's harder to kill yourself with. Still every 8 minutes on average, a person winds up in the emergency room having attempted suicide while taking a psychiatric drug.
Now, I acknowledge that some people feel these drugs have helped them and other feel they have hurt them or their loved ones. The FDA has a black box warning on these drugs saying they can actually raise the risk of suicide in people under 25. Despite massive numbers of prescriptions we still have a problem with suicide. I will boldly state that these drugs are simply able to do away with suicide.
Also, I didn't make those statistics the CDC & SAMHSA made those statistics. I didn't make any claim in this video that antidepressants "don't work", I said they don't prevent suicide attempts & there are a hell of a lot of people that psychiatry doesn't work for. It's just a fact. Almost 1900 people that killed themselves that NVDRS tracked, had already sought help from psychiatry but they still took their own lives. Those were only the suicides tracked in 7 US states.
It would be great if there were independent studies done on psychiatric meds. The sorry truth is the drug industry competes for profits. They do there own studies and research and trials. Its not ethical. The research, studies and trials need to go back into the universities where they belong. There studies and trials are biased and can't be trusted. They ultimately control what information is released to the FDA and the public.
You're right. Of course the schools don't have the funds to test everything. I'm not sure if there's better solution to find funding. I'm not a proponent of big business, though without the pharma companies it wouldn't get done at all. Do you have ideas about what the solution is? I suspect that without profit motive, no one would bother developing new meds. What do you think?
The only feasible solution is to do away with lobbyist in Washington. The drug industry has become to powerful. The American People have to put pressure on congress to do this. And i don't see that realistically happening in the near future. So no, all we can do is keep suing the drug companies for there negligence and malpractice. And warn other people of the dangers. Psychiatrist are not held accountable because they have an almost air tight defense.
According to the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration a person goes to the emergency room on average every 8 minutes for attempting suicide while taking a psychiatric drug, most attempts aren't successful but attempts are happening all the time.
