The idiot barely stepped on the gas. Also, he needed to turn off the ESP (electronic slip protection). That's why he wasn't going anywhere. You turn that off and give it some gas, you wont have a problem. I have a 2005 V8 4.2L Touareg and I never get stuck off roading in the snow. And yes, I'm American. I love German vehicles. Especially VW. Don't underestimate them. I have taken on many American cars, trucks etc. with my Vdub and always cam out the victor.

ASR = Anti-Slip Regulation .

ESP includes ASR.

The V10 TDI Touareg has 553lb ft of torgue in which I have seen pull a Boeing747. Although the wheels and tires look good, looks will not help this vehicle in this situation. Replace them with either snow tires or install snow chains.

When you are on the road leave ESP ON but if you are in trouble try turning off. For me worked and I have drive my Touareg since 2005 often in more bad conditions but i had to put on ice and snow tyres. When necessary: reduce the pressure in tyres a little bit, decoupling ESP, coupling the reductor... not all the same time HI HI...
