Thx for this video, I just got mine, serial 76. I didn't own the P3 so It's hard to find my way round. This movie and you're comment helps me understand it better :-). Looking forward for the next movie !
Been wanting to upload more but my video rendering somehow not working any more, all pictures coming out black.
You can record realtime MIDI stuff into Cirklon as well as step time by just playing in from a keyboard. Function to transpose via MIDI input not yet implemented but it'll come. :)
Cirklon allows you to store "scenes" which are collections of its (currently 32) tracks - like an extended version of the P3's "parts". These can be played in sequence automatically in a song with manual pauses at any point you like ,in case you have a section you'd like to loop a while before the song progresses.
It means you can work in chunks of any size you like, in the way DAWs tend to let you working between left and right locators. Hope that helps. :)
how is it chaining patterns in to songs? that is usually the most annoying thing to program with hardware sequencers. (i have pre-ordered a cirklon :) )
It isn't cheap but it has a lot of power for both realtime and steptime sequencing, plus it talks MIDI, USB and CV/Gate. I should do a new video really as this one is quite old and the machine is growing and evolving all the time. But if I had to name just one feature that sets it apart from every other machine, it's tightness. Rock solid timing just *sounds* different and when you're used to it, you won't go back...
Really great to see this in action, I've only just come across it (can't remember how tho). Sequentix estimate the cost to be around £1000 +VAT etc... which appears to be quite alot of money, until you take into account the fact this can run MIDI and CV/Gate devices as well, so no more hunting down old unreliable analog sequencers and dodgy backup tape devices. The best of both worlds then! Also great to see a small company coming up with such a product, would love to afford one and use it live
Cirklon records realtime MIDI and steptime and so can handle chords easily. Don't forget, even the P3 could record chords (via aux notes) and when I made this vid, I was using P3-type patterns, so the chords were done the old way.
I really should make a new vid to show off some of the newer features...
No Radias in this - just Proteus 2000, Fantom XR and Vermona Mono Lancet doing the bass. It's my basic stripped down rig for simplest gigs. Will post another video soon with split screen hopefully showing the close-up screen stuff so you can see what's happening. :)
Sweet sounds, it all Radias? Man I miss my P3 and this is it on steroids!! Im also super excited about the direct analog connection, no more MIDI-CV converters!!!!! Two questions: Have you played with realtime recording much yet?
Any comments on the differentiation between drum tracks and sequencer tracks? I hope Mine gets built soon!!
Great!

I'll try and do something a bit clearer next time. Maybe soon if I get in the mood and find my other camera. :)

does the cirklon do polyphony for each track or are you multi tracking monophonic sequences to create chords?

Kick butt opening salvo! It's not always obvious watching your hand and listening, what you're actually doing.
