the song was originally on the teen wolf episode when it was aired on TV, but then of course when i watched it on Netflix the other night they replaced it with some dumass song ...once again MTV changes their songs after they originally chose the perfect music for a show haha

Their cover of "Dreams" was great, so I thought I'd give this cover a chance. It's not that good, though. The Pumpkins version is simply much better. I still love Passion Pit, however, and I can't wait for the next album.

But also I grew up with Smashing Pumpkins and I think they're iconic for the time along with Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Tool, Metallica, Pantera, Jane's Addiction and M.Manson.

At that time I would give Iconic status to Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, I would put Disturbed kind of on the fence. I would say that sometime between now and then they became iconic. Now that doesn't mean everyone likes all of those bands it just means somewhere along the lines you probably heard their stuff and a lot of people did buy into them and they became very popular and famous and word-touring.

They put synthesizer in it, they added tune to their voices, and are mostly female vocals. They replaced the drumming with synth as well. They decreased the tempo by a lot. And somehow it became less ominous and mysterious. Goes to show you the true musical genius in the original.

@donut2790 Saw Passion Pit live in Cincinnati in 09, and agree, the band is very tight. Harlem Shakes opened and blew Passion Pit off the stage though. Harlem Shakes are sadly no more but the album they released in 2008 will become a classic. Just my opinion.

The original swamps this song... And whoever says this is more deep than SP's is retarded. Corgan's emotion, his inflection, is what makes Tonight, Tonight so special.

I do like the sort of crackle effect towered the chorus with the synthesizers. But as far as vocals go, these guys need some testosterone stat.

Smashing Pumpkins did a lot of shoegazer music very similar to this version, and i tell you that most part of their beauty was in this dreamy hidden songs at the end of their albums. And i'm gay and i've listened Smashing Pumpkins from the 1993 till now that i'm 30. What you said is very stupid. And Twilight has nothing to do with Smashin Pumpkins or shoegazers
