My brother Mom and I went on the Ghost walk, and we took a picture inside the room where the coal shoots where... when we looked at the picture, nothing was there... it was like putting the camera to a wall and taking a shot... it was pitch black... when we took a picture again... it was all white and foggy... something happened like that in the shower room as well... but only the left side of the camera was fogged over... we are thinking that it was a ghost... but idk what other people think...
@specwep Hi specwep - thanks for watching and commenting. :) The Atlas Coal Mine is AWESOME for investigations - we agree completely! And the Wash House (where the showers are) is known for providing some very interesting phenomena. It's great that you had the chance to visit. :)
love the music!! and very cool spot, there are several areas in the US, one being Centerville, PA where underground mining tunnels are still burning. Clip 1 sounds like "bird", Clip 2 kind of sounds like "you know it's spring", Clip 3 is a little interesting to me, sounds a little like either "Hello","Go", or an orgasmic "Ohh", Clip 4 it appears to be repeating what you said by saying "I can't walk down", Clip 5 seems to say "No its not" & "yes", maybe they are disagreeing! Love it!
@NinjaCthulhu Thanks Charles! It does enhance what was already a very eerie atmosphere, that's for sure. And thanks for sharing what you hear, too; we're just not sure about any of the captures. There was just enough breeze moving across the mic that we just couldn't make them out. It sounds like Centerville would be a great place to check out - the mining days were pretty interesting times...
Dudes! You were brave just to walk across that bridge ! Beautiful stunning scenery.
that first clip MIGHT be "where are we"? or "they" Second clip could be "you have to see" and the third might be "get goin'", but that wasnt as clear as the others. The rest are there, but garbled as they sometimes are. Cool orb captures !
@hauntedartists Thanks Sharon. :) Yeah, it really did take a lot for me to walk across that bridge. Teri had no problems with it, but I have an issue with heights - especially on bridges you can see through. LOL
Thanks for sharing what you heard, as well. We haven't been able to make out what's being said, so I guess whatever folks are hearing is how the EVPs are coming through to them. :)
@twinnumber3 Thanks Jonathan. :) Yeah, it's weird how that was happening: our cameras were acting up and we couldn't figure out why. When we saw that particular picture, we thought maybe that was the reason. We actually got a few shots like that. :)
@Greyfort7 LOL Greyfort :D Yes, they do love to chat. :D
Joking aside, we're going to be returning to both of those places. There is a lot of potential at the mine; we just have to time it for when there's not going to be many people around. And that section of road is eerie no matter what time of day or night, but I'm guessing the later at night we go, the better. We will definitely be returning, though. :)
hi gurlz! great vid! interesting EVP's, although i can't hear some of them. #2 sounds is ominious and eerie! #3 sounds like the word 'bummer". what do you hear? :o)
@JoGurlzStuff Thanks, Jo. :) We're not sure what's being said, to be honest. But that last EVP sounded to us like "crack 'em" or something like that. We're not really sure on that one, either. So we definitely want to make a return visit - and next time, we might bring the ghost box with us, just to see if there's anything that might come through that way... :)
I think the Star Mine was shut down when the fire occurred. I think it halted production in 1957 and the fire occurred shortly thereafter. Although there were numerous accidents and fatalities over the years at that mine, I don't recall anyone being killed when the explosion/fire took place. I seem to recall that either part of the hill or the slag heap collapsed over the mine entrance burying some of the tipple and a box car. That coal seam and slag heap have been burning ever since. Great vid!
