i dont understand people say humbuckers sound big n wide when david uses single coil pickups, and his guitar sounds big, and holy shit awsome wide type sound! Single coils are typically less compressed than humbuckers so the lows they produce can really swell up and the highs can get really bright. They typically lack the midrange of a humbucker. That's why humbuckers are said to sound thicker because midrange fattens up guitar tone.

@negativewaves1 Actually all of his setup help him to produce that fat n' wide sound. He has EMG's single coil ACTIVE pickups on that red strat. They were made to have a big, fat and bluesy tone. and, Obvious, the wood, the tweaking on his amp, everything helps.

It's amazing how David catches the gamut of different emotions in the three different solo's

First solo the tears, and loneliness, hurt and pain, crying tears of hurt, at the 1:35 mark, the Anger kicks in ,

Second solo, the beginnings seeds of Hope and promise springing forth, then the realization, that the past really is behind them.

3rd solo, the pure joy and elation of finally being able to come back to life, happiness

Been having a bad few weeks recently and not feeling the greatest, but everyday i have listened to pink floyd and every day ive been cheered up, they are not only a good band, but they can make you feel all kinds of emotions just by listening to them. I honestly dont know where i'd be without Pink Floyd, they truly are the greatest band ever, and i will listen to them for as long as humanly possible (also hoping for a reunion gig)!
