Tail rotors going bad is comming problem with helios. You would think they would have solved this problem, maybe some type rocket safty device to give you time to land . Tail Rotors shafts snapping or breaking common. It might be that some point when landing of taking off they hit debrie with the rear rotor, thump , like when slicks would com in fast and pitch up, rear rotor would contact the ground. No one says any thing. They keep flying , week later it fails! I was soldier, Jump wings, Bail!

It wasn't that funny to start out with, it was a "OMG were they hurt vid?". But when it caught fire and fell into the water you gotta admit, that's when you start thinking EPIC FAIL X 10
Both rotors are necessary to balance a helicopter, if the tail rotor stops working properly as it almost appears to be spinning spuradically as it goes off the screen, this would cause it to spin like that.
@tige72 Also one must consider the difficulty of landing on a bobbing, moving ship as opposed to a stationary land based helipad. Harder than it looks folks.
I'm pretty sure the hellicopter burst into flames and went over the side. I doubt if anyone got out of that. They sink like a rock once they hit the water.
Tail rotor failure (seemed quite a slow degradation so I would guess a gear box failure) Pilot did well to get it down before serious and higher speed torque induced spin got going. Still not a good place to be though!!
dude i wish i culd fly a chopper that good

All survived .... pylon fitting cracked, causing the tail driveshaft to become uncoupled.
