@thekingakaitsme Lao people did not blame the Americans for the war. It was Gods plan and Gods will to bring his beloved people back to Gods land. I am so happy and please to be here in USA, i have opportunities to be sucess and succeed, have more education. I have more knowledges and most importantly to be loves by GOD. I was only three years old when my parents had to leave the country and I am grateful for that. My life would have been very different if they had stayed. USA is the only home I know and acknowledge. Laos is not the country most liberal people, media really think it is. They'll spend American Dollars, but they think we are evil...hipocrits!!!

My mom and her 2 brothers and her mom had to spend 3-4 nights in the jungle to head west. Same for my dad he had to travel through the jungle too

"Possible is the spirit of hope that every immigrant brings." I really respect every Laotian who has left such a beautiful place TO come to the Western countries where POSSIBLE can rarely be found. Where is freedom? I hope every Laotian's heart is loyal to their homeland. The culture, family and strong personalities of every Lao survivor amazes me in every aspect. As a Canadian, I am very angry at the Western countries who destroyed a place with the kindest and hardest working people.I respect.

I went to Laos in 1999 and it wasn't the Laos my parents escaped from but i will never forget when my dad had to swim across the mekong river ( forgive me if i mispelled ) watching out for the communist who had the ak 47s ready to kill so called traitors.

I was a laos refugee when I was only 5 years old. My parents and grandparents said I was on their back while they had to travel on foot through jungles and mountains. They said they would have never left if it wasn't for the bombings and the war. I lost my uncle and grandfather from the bombs.

I don't hate Canada, but war is why my family is here, why they had to leave EVERYthing behind and run for their lives. I don't know whether to be thankful, or dream of the day I can go visit Lao. What about the rest of you guys?
