oh dear.... the infamous Triangle is actually a very simple offense, when you compare it to Flex and motion offenses. The Jackson PR did a good job presenting it as a mythically complex offense. These are things that have been done in Europe since the 50s... and many european players instinctively do them, which is why Pau and others European players fit in so well with the offense.
@emouch1 This reminds me of the game plan of another Favorite coach of mine...the motion offense that Bobby Knight used. They both are deadly when you have the right personnel on the floor.
This is great- provides a great framework for watching Lakers games and assessing how well the team's doing beyond just points scored. I get how the Triangle can be difficult to pick up because of its sheer complexity, at the same time it's such a difficult offense to guard because the number of potential plays/counters is unlimited- when run right, it's merely a series of continual reactions to the defense. This puts "take what the defense gives you" on a whole another level.
