out of curiosity i wonder where he would put my boys Jada and Styles P. at...which category?....if you ask me they are great MC's, but have troubles in the rap field like a lot of people do as Clark said...
how can Jay-Z be untouchable when Eminem burned him on Renegade, Lil' Wayne burned him on Mr. Carter and Kanye West burned him on Run This Town. When was the last time Eminem was outshined on a track??? Mos Def and Black Thought couldn't even do it on the BET CYPHER, although Black Thought was close. Kent is biased cuz he produces for him. BIG is a different story. I bet BIG and Em would have been trading verses back and forth meaning they are the only ones who can hang with each other.
lil wayne didn't burn sh*t on mr carter his last couple bars on that song ARE JAY-Z bars from volume 1. Jay ruined lil wayne on that song. Renegade on the other hand eminem gave you the best verses of his career so it stood out something ridiculous, jay just gave you regular jay with his verses so it seemed average.
i hate people like dj clark kent he is si bias to new york rappers u cant tell me that 2pac is not the best rapper OVERALL because rap is a genre it is about beats, lyrics, hooks, songs, rappin about real shit, and delivery,2pac had the best hooks, songs and delivery and had the deepest music but i would have to say that biggie or eminem are the best lyricists but 2pac is the best overall
@smiley93rd Pac was a great rapper, but not a great emcee or lyricist. He spit stuff with emotion and feeling, but he never spit punchlines and metaphors that made you say 'OH SHIT! Fuck did he just say?'
@Antrizzle2009 how u figure dat...pac only got lyrical when it was neccersary when he felt like it he was a great lyricist listen to cant ce...if i die tonight ......holla at me...tradin war stories...got my mind made up
@smiley93rd I've heard all of those and none of them are mindblowing lyrically. They're all good don't get me wrong, but Pac doesn't say something that makes you say "oh shit". He's pretty straight forward in his rhymes, no double entendres, multi-syllable rhyme schemes, metaphors etc... think of someone like a Canibus or Ras Kass and their level of lyricism for example.
@Antrizzle2009 they say pussy and paper is poetry, power, and pistols, plottin on murderin muthafuckas fo they get u,picturin pitiful, punk niggas coppin pleas, puffin weed as i position myself to clock g's,my enemies scatter in suicidal situations, never the witness to wicked shit that they was facin, pockets is packed wit presidents pursue your riches, evadin the players hatin tricks, while hittin switches-2pac If I Die Tonite
@smiley93rd I was actually thinking about that song after you brought it up. That's one of the few songs I think you see Pac do the multi's. Actually one of my favorite Pac songs. Not sure if Got My Mind Made Up is a good example. He does decent on that one, but then you hear guys like Kurupt, Method Man, and Redman come right after him rippin it up and its like yea ummm Pac did good but damn.
@Antrizzle2009 yeah i feel u but my point from the jump was that dj clark kent dick rides jay z and biggie so much he said that jay z and biggie are 1 and two in the catergories and mc and rappers i diasgree i think that biggie was a better mc than jay z but eminem is the greatest LYRICIST EVER i dont think there anyone who has ever lived that can out rap em but i think 2pac is the best overall has the best delivery, best hooks, and most versatile ut i do admit he's not a top 5 all time LYRICIST
@smiley93rd It's all opinions and I respect yours. Personally Nas is my G.O.A.T. but I respect anyone who says Pac, or Big, or Jay, or Em, or Rakim, or KRS One, or LL, or Pun, or Big L, or Scarface, or Andre 3k, etc... and I've heard arguments for all of them. It's all about one's tastes. If one is a good debator and can make valid points, they can make a case for any of them cats based on different reasons.
Clark is dead on about most rappers not taking the time anymore to make a great quality album. Too many of these so called rappers are more concerned with just pushing out albums every year rather then taking two or three years to make each cut the best it can be. Some of these guys actually brag that they are finishing 10-15 songs a week. What's the point if only one or two of them are halfway decent?
jayz is most DEFINTLY not tha greatest mc in tha sense that hes sayin it in jay really only had 2 extremly good lyrical albums and it was reasonable doubt and vol.1 tha rest just had really good beats and jays ill ass flow
idk cuz dj clark kent is right, jay and biggie did make different music that felt the same. and plus biggie said it himself, he was gonna retire in 2000, so jay-z woulda still had that fame and all that success.
