  • It means Mom needs a little outer space.

  • what movie is this from

  • nie ma to jak Polskie kapitały w Ameryce

  • This is very good I wish they would use it!

  • Gee, I wished ALL Universal films opened this way... The Flintstones did this (or a reasonable facsimile) in 1994.

  • one of the biggest production companies in the universe.

  • I think it's good combination if that 80´s universal logo could use it...

  • What if this was shown in "Harry and the Hendersons" or "The 'Burbs"?

  • It will soon be Comcast.... Hopefully, they will return to the "almost original" theme, and this one is the best!

  • awesome!!!

  • The 1960's A Universal Picture logo was used in Inglorious Basterds.

  • Awesome!

  • Loved the use of this old Universal indent with Drag Me to Hell.

  • You mean the actual logo minus the made-up music, right?

  • Correct. I should have stated that originally.

  • WOW! A PERFECT SCORE! 100%! :D

  • This fanfare could fit into the Wanar Bros " Big \\" " logo from Waner Communacations.

  • YOW! Looks as if I've been *had!* LOL!

Just read the text 2 seconds ago, and I now know this is a "recreation"/"Melding"...and *not* the 'official' opening..

    Nevertheless, it's WAY COO-ELL!

By the way,supremetaco..when the economy mellows out, do ya think ya might do creations like this fer the "Big Leagues"? Ya sure have the *talent*, m8..

  • New to me, this is *the* Universal Logo heme DELUXE....worthy of something that cecil B. DeMille woulda used (Had he not been with Paramount)..

Though I am kinda surprised that Speilberg never used this in any of *his* Universal films..

    Thanx, thanx, THANX, m8...

  • This Universal Pictures musical tag is from 1964.

  • Would it be interesting if they ever put this in the mega bomb, Howard The Duck?

  • Well I know that logo from anywhere It just happens to be on my DVD and VHS copy of Back To The Future. Can't really tell where the music is from.

  • I think it actually works really well; the only thing I would have done is added a bit of reverb to make the fanfare more spacious and majestic.

  • Thanks! And yeah, that is a good idea.

  • it matched pprefectly good job

  • Well, this logo was used from 1963-1990 so all movies within those years used the same style. I know that I've seen a movie or two using an actual feature film jingle of some sort but it's extremely rare.

  • Is this made up or from a movie?

  • The music is made up. Sorta. I took the first seven notes of an MTE spoof made by Morality 124, slowed them down and altered them, and combined them with the full 1964 Universal Television theme.

The visual logo is from a 1982 movie; the name of which escapes me.

  • This is rare indeed as usually the Universal logo for feature films are either silent or with the film's score embedded. This is with the extended TV jingle.

  • This is also a spoof.

  • This makes me want to dance this fanfare and makes me laugh too. Like, this fanfare is the best ever. And put the 1978 fanfare onto this logo, please, supremetaco? Pretty please? Don't make me beg now.

  • oh men youre stupid everybody now that movie is a Disney FIlm

  • FYI, this is from Universal!!!

  • Only a spoof!!

  • I agree.

  • That's right Shadeed.

  • I would have thought this was real.

  • 1) This is a spoof.

    2) "The Great Mouse Detective" was a Walt Disney film.

  • Scare them right out of the theater with this one! As if the $20 to see a movie didn't already stop people...

  • LOL

  • Or the amount of fat and cholesterol that's in popcorn made with coconut oil.

  • EGAD! Now that's something to get creeped out by!!!

  • lol this is very nice!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Great job on the effort. 5 star central.

  • Hey! Taking my slang!

  • This is the motion picture version of the logo, but it has the MCA Television theme from sometime in the 1960s or 1970s.

  • Actually, it's the full 1964 Universal Television theme, based on the 1958 Revue Studios theme.

  • Right.

  • Nice!

  • Thanks! Hope you don't mind me using your vid. ;-)

  • How can I get the original Revue theme?

  • Look for JohnnyL80's Revue/MCA "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" spoof. It has the real 1958 Revue theme on there.

  • I hear part of the theme is using the 1964 Universal Television long version theme.

  • Cool spoof! Where did the music come from?? I thought I had heard the long version of the Revue theme but not this looong... The french horns at the start give it a really majestic sound.

  • Thanks for the compliment! And actually, you DID hear the long version of the Revue theme. Those french horns were just from an MTE logo spoof someone made a while back, slowed down and pitchbended. I used Audacity to put the entire thing together.

Glad you liked it! This could've really worked as a real fanfare, don't you think? ;-D

  • Wow, the two go together so seamlessly you can't tell it's spliced. For a minute there I was thinking the MTE jingle was taken from this one. Esquivel and Stanley Wilson would be proud.

  • Thank you very much! Again, glad you liked it!

  • Well, the MTE elements were done by Robert Prince, who also composed all variants of Universal Television from 1975-1991

  • In fact, I made the MTE spoof. :)

    You used Audacity as well?

  • Yep. Cool program. (And I'm sorry for not crediting that to you...I just couldn't remember your username at the moment. :) )

  • I have Audacity.

I used it in the logo spoof contest entry and VCI goes NUTS.
