@porky247 I tried out a freinds nexus, I forgot it was a samsung, because the radios were a joke. Same antennas as the s2 which is a POS. It took 8 min to get a gps lock where my razr got a lock instantly. Samsung is very overrated. Its too bad because i like ICS, but its not worth the flaws.

One might be slightly better quality, one might affect the screen differently than the other, etc. Typically, reviewers show what you'll get right off the shelf.

The battery life was awful, the OS was complete garbage thanks to Motofail, it couldn't hang onto a 4G signal to save its own life, the screen is shoddily calibrated, the buttons are plastic, fiddly, and cheap, not nearly as quick to respond as it should be, voice quality was middling, and at no point in my ownership of that phone did I think "this is a well built, premium phone".

As for the other stuff, I appreciate the input. I hadn't heard any such complaints from anyone else aside from the bit about Motorola's software and the battery (hence the Razr Maxx). Perhaps you received a substandard Razr?

@SpazzyMcGee1337 When I owned it, the calibration app didn't work with the phone. I may have had a bad screen, since there were "blotches" of black that you could see on black scenes.

I think all Razr's are substandard. I've always had bad experience with Motofail, and I shouldn't have bought the phone, but figured I'd give it a shot.

As for the looks, I realize it's subjective, but I'm certainly not alone. The design is chunky and uninspired. Like I said, way too much bezel around the screen.

Motorola's hardware is the best! Sure they're locked down but we can still flash a rom on them. The nexus is pretty good too but compared to the razr's hardware it just doesnt compare. And the nexus doesnt have gorilla glass, that glass is the best.

If you plan to do alot of hacking and modifying go with the nexus. You can still hack the razr just not to the level that the nexus can.

I went with the Razr and think that overall it is a GREAT smart phone. These types of videos are good because they show differences for people wanting to make a decision. @MacInDaPants Talking to all my friends with different smart phones, they say ANY smart phone is going to eat its battery depending on how much you use it and how you set it up. If you have Wi-Fi, GPS, Blue Tooth, sink and your screen on full bright because of its brilliant colors then of course the battery is going to die in 6 to 8 hours. I had help but I turned off all the stuff I don't use. It is VERY easy to turn it on when I need it. The phone is GREAT. Nexus is GREAT
