Cards are cardboard, no matter whats printed on them. No matter what they say or do, it doesn't justify paying $500-$1000 when it's mainly kids 20 and under that pay that price.

Anyway...there is a rumor that Jace the Mindsculptor will be in a future planeswalker duel deck. This is a good move by WOTC. This will bring in sells and satisfy alot of players.

There's also a furture type of card in standard, where you can only have 1 in a deck because the "Unique" restricted cards will be so powerful for standard. Like Fastbond, Balance, Wheel of Fortune, and etc...

Mox opal's legendary drawback is much larger than you seem to notice. Because it's legendary, playing multiples can put you a card (or even cards) down, so you only want to play 1 or 2. However, when you play fewer artifacts, metalcraft becomes harder to achieve, so this does something even less of the time. It's okay, and will indeed see some play in standard and extended, maybe a few legacy decks, but not in vintage (other than in belcher).

Personally, I think Venser(aka David Tennant) is interesting but unspectacular, as his 2 non-ultimate abilities don't warrant being on a 5-mana planeswalker. Elspeth is good, but I'm not sure where she fits. Koth is good, and interacts well with Valakut, but I don't know that he has a home right now. Red disruption has traditionally been land d, and the land d right now blows with the exceptions of Ruinblaster and D-Force, so I don't know if he'll be good.

Which is fine, except SCG really loves their price gouging, which in turn totally skews the entire secondary market. The three planeswalkers in Scars of Mirrodin are already pre-selling for $50 each.
