I also have a Gt Premium 07. The best car for its price. I have had all kinds of sports cars, but nothing turns heads like a Mustang. You can see it on my page.
I don't own the Shelby 500, mine is the GT premium, which is still a cool car without a doubt. But one thing the dealer told me that surprised me, was that my GT has a stronger rear axle than the Shelby. Ford hit a home run with these generation models.
I cant say i own anything as exciting as this, but i have sat in once and played with the controls and transmission and the inside is far from crap. Given, its no german made car, but i did not have the feeling that, for the price (before mark up), i was sitting in anything inferior to a BMW or Audi.
I love how Top Gear and Fifth Gear point out how low tech a lot of American cars are and whats wrong with them etc. But have you ever seen any of the reviewers laugh so hard or have more fun in a low tech American car like a GT500 or Challenger? Nurburgring times aren't everything guys.
This car is a legend! Coming from the UK the vast majority of our cars are small engined hatchbacks; as we are taxed so high that's all we can afford to buy/run. You will never see anything like a 5.4L 500bhp car popping into Tesco's (similar to Walmart) to do some shopping.
That's what makes it so appealing - raw power, amazing chunky exterior and if you pick the right options the interior don't look too bad either.

Top Gear Dyno Test Produced 447 Horsepower. Any car on the Dyno will produce 16 - 20% less Horsepower due to Drive Train Losses. Now assuming a 16% drivetrain loss the 447 Horsepower Equates to 533 Crankshaft Horsepower. Now Considering that ALL American Made Cars and Most other cars made around the world are Rated at the Crankshaft, you tell me is 533 Horsepower Not better then 500 its rated at?

JayZoop: he's drifting like that because the car *can't* handle those turns at such high speeds. his drifting technique is the only way to keep any control over it, as trying to keep it driving like it's on rails would take it into the wall--the car simply can't take corners and turns that well. now if it had a race suspension and tire setup, like actual race cars, not production vehicles, do, then it would stick a good bit better.
Why does he drift so much? He's so stuck in his ways of what makes a good car. The car is meant to take those turns alot faster. You never see a race car drifting on a race track as much as he does. He should see have fast he can get around those turns instead of his drifting.
He's got a point about the handling but I like when the car is crude because you can feel the car more. Once you are familiar with your car you can do anything.
