  • you should rerelease this to just you playing. i wanna hear the guitar solo. though, i never thought id ever hear myself asking to hear a guitar solo.

  • Not bad start. Keep practicing!

  • NO

  • did the string died?

  • and to think i didnt like guitars that much. thank you.

  • too much bending the string

  • @btnheazy03 You can never bend a string too much! This was done quite good.

  • @mi1i1i1tch hell no, it was overused and it sounds awful!

  • thanks for sharing this !! great job :)

  • Lol Iron Man

    Wtf

Bro, i would greatly Appreciate it if you Gave me the chords you played

'It sounds so beautiful that id play it over and over again.

  • Oh! very nice! congrats

  • Your style is alot like Malmsteen's. Nice cover, too. This song is so soothing in all the right ways.

  • Name of the song so i can find it.....

  • the song is called iron man

  • @xRisingForcex your wrong, this song is actually carry on my wayward son, written by guns n roses in 1927 from the album "and justice for all"

  • @akguitar94 true

  • @akguitar94 wow and hear i thought you were an idiot, then i realized you just mixed that shit up... touche good sir.

  • @belgref Arni village from chrono cross. are you retarded or some thing look at the title.

  • @trivuong no, i didn't read, that was the problem, i tried to erased the comment but you yube didnt

  • very good xD

  • That's an Ovation roundback acoustic electric guitar isn't it....

I was looking at that guitar at my local guitar shop and it stared at me like I stared at it. It was just a must-have guitar... you know that look you just give a guitar and you say it's perfect.

  • They should make a game similar

    to chrono cross =\

  • Ahh I loved the Chono series soundtrack. Great work.

  • all the chrono cross songs are too cooll!!

  • @xoloo09:

    That's a fact!

  • @xoloo09 hell yeah they are!!!!!! hahahaha

  • hah.. incredible how you have malmsteen's style.. could tell you're adept to him just by your playing..

    nice!

  • quite nice

  • Nice work, but you should probably tone down on vibrating the string. It feels very overused.

  • Was thinking the same...

  • lol. this guy is right. all the vibrations give me a headache. You should learn from oldwhtman who does good covers of chrono cross.

  • @Omecle This guy obviously gets a lot (maybe too much) Yngwie influence.

  • wOW!

  • hey rising, i've looked you up agian after a long while. I remember I first found you when you released the karma cover. I was really impressed by your channel, and still am.

this video, means alot to me. not only is it your only video with an acoustic (i think), but it reminds me of the past, and gives me a feeling of nostalgia. For that, I thank you.

This has really made my day, and I hope to see some more of these in the future. ^^

  • haha excellent, thanks for staying tuned this long

i realize how hard it must be to keep up with someone who releases videos this infrequently ;\

  • take your time mate, i know its hard, and you have other stuff to do.

i can wait for however long, so no worries :D

  • @xRisingForcex I am writing this one year later to emphasize how long it's been since you responded to ChoujiAkimichi.

    Mortality lolz.

  • Very good text and music!

  • i believe we found ourselves a hater.

now mate, you cant say these things unless you post something yourself.

  • You do it then, smart ass.

  • One of the greatest RPG games to ever come out, with one of the greatest soundtracks ever.

    5 Star

  • @D4rkScyth TALK ABOUT NOSTALGIA. It was a whole year ago when I made this comment and look, I still come back.

  • i love it soOo muche ,nice ^_^

  • i love reading the descriptions in ur videos, they come with good reading music!!!

  • The songs, and music in any game. Is what

got me started to play on piano and keyboard. You certainly convinced me further

  • that's so sad how people can't even feel that video game music is one of the most amazing things...and i am as well glad that you included motoi sakuraba in your description. I wanna became a video game soundtrack composer someday even know that i'll live in the shadows...thanks for your guitar playing, that was awesome. 5/5 and favorited

  • I'm so glad you included Motoi Sakuraba in your desciption. He doesn't get as much credit as he deserves =/

  • The originials recorded with a pick, I think it sounds great.

  • i'm not saying it doesn't sound great but this guy definitely has the potencial.

  • PERFECT!!! That was beautiful, thanks for sharing. =]

  • that was amazing. if only there were a sixth star to give...

  • whats this music genre? i like it ^^

  • it's chrono cross ost, one of the best game of Square Soft.

  • wow this is beautiful

and companies make such beautiful music

i just don't understand why everyone just can't love it :]

  • wonderful, man. i agree with ur statement all the way. and yeh, ive also beaten through chrono cross recently, such a legendary game =)

  • just hearing this song alone makes me want to restart chrono cross just to hear this song. and after i beat chrono trigger for the millienth time. great discription on the side..and its sad that its true.

  • Holy shit, nice writing in the description dude. I totally understood what you meant about unsung Japanese videogame composers, the lack of acknowledgment of anything other than "Japan's cultural domestics," etc.

  • great playing dude, love the song. Noticed halfway through that I have that same necklace XD lol.

  • Ovation?

  • man this is one intense discussion. im not gonna get into the commentary on the right, but i will say this. your guitar sounds great but those slender bodies are terrible. it musta slid off your lap and needed readjustment about 15-20 times.

  • lmfao yeah that is one of the drawbacks

  • Lovely performance. And great rant off to the side. It's all so true, and it pisses me off.

  • nicely donnes

n pretty acoustic electric guitar :D

  • Firstly, great performance.

I love what you wrote in the description box.

Motoi Sakuraba is awesome. Have you heard 'Dark Element' from Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange? Very cool orchestral metal remix.

  • im sorry

  • you wrote in the description box that most legendary games have legendary soundtracks. ill bet you play your legendary games a lot. you must have heard the music for those legendary games a lot have you not? its legendary because you played the game a lot, and the music is like "wow i remember that area in the game it was fun wowowowow i love this songggg." i am the same.

  • That was amazinggggggg

    :D

  • music from games is only fun when you have heard the song/played the game a 100 times, and then later on it brings back good memories. music is underappreciated because on average people dont play games 100 times, so yes... a lot of people have played mario so the theme for the old school mario is loved by like everybody

  • that is.. a very bold, and ultimately incorrect statement

i harbor a genuine interest for music and i download random osts all the time with no knowledge whatsoever of its respective game

nostalgia makes your opinions biased and subjective; appreciation out of nostalgia is completely different from genuine musical interest

music is music man, irrespective of its context.

which is not at all to say that a contextual understanding deepens your perception and understanding of a song

  • big words. I have had actual experience with my statement, and their is nothing you can do to change it. Remember the Soulja Boy song? yea that was the most overrated piece of crap in the world. everyone heard it so everyone liked it. everyone heard it a million times more. Now their is a spongebob crank dat soulja boy with 50 million views.

MUSIC SOUNDS GREAT WHEN YOU HAVE HEARD IT A LOT IN THE PAST!

  • you utterly fail to see the point

and that ridiculous paragraph of yours makes NO point as well

nostalgia skews your perceptions, that is an unarguable truth that has zero to do with whether you have had actual experience or not.

this is the thing: you are not perceiving the song itself, but rather your fond memory of it, and the two invariably bleed together as you confuse them for one another

  • who said i confused them together? thats like saying "duhhhh cookies are bad with choclate chips you cant mix them."

dude... a song is a song, but it sounds better when you know it, you love it, you grew up with it. YOU fail to understand.

  • Actually Zin, He has a point, Now Granted what you had to say was true. Some people hate hearing new music because of the fact they don't know it. But Most people hear a song, and automatically know they will love it. But Rising has a point as well. Nostalgia is merely a memory of what you did when the song or that smell was around you. And It doesn't mean you like the song, You like what it Symbolizes. All in all, Rising, You are really good at guitar man, and Zin, Lighten up and have fun.

  • ...

i am at a complete loss for words

i clueless as to how to argue against that irrelevant analogy

the added stimuli you get from listening to a song with nostalgic value is not musical in nature. the song does not, it CAN NOT sound "better", because nostalgia CAN not add musical dimensions! you are appreciating it MORE since it is a relic of your past

my point is this: nostalgia totally fucks with the validity of opinions, why is that so hard to grasp

  • and the fact that.. objectively and removed from the context of this videogame, you would categorize this as a country song..

that does speak volumes about your musical knowledge :x

  • Risings right, there are many games with music which is so good that for that reason i have played. for example, i first played the kingdom hearts 2 because i heard a song (i believe its name was 13th struggle) and instantly fell in love. Also When i hear songs from games i have never played (eg chrono cross as in this vid) i still find that it is a great piece.

  • Sweet!!!

  • anyone know where i can go to get the notes for this song on guitar?

  • Good job man

...But man, you sure love the vibrato don't you? Haha. Just sayin'... ;)

  • you're a true musician, see that you keep it up.

  • is that a ovation?

  • Nice to know people still appreciate art for what it is

  • Hey man! We talked quite awhile back on your site's forum, just wanted to check and see how you're doing. It's always great to find someone who sees the great composition behind "video game" music, hope to see some more vids soon

  • sorry i was born with this face, lol

  • haha nice comeback

  • great...after this im gonna start takin guitar lessons XD

  • Good points in your comment section. For me some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard has come from video games.

  • I think one thing to say to your description will suffice: You are correct, sir. In my experience on this Earth, the men you named and a few more, are some of the greatest men to ever live.

  • Great =)

This song makes me sad because I cant play my ps1 anymore. This song made me feel so many things that I cant describe...=P

  • It's weird isn't it? I feel that way about this too. I know it's just a "video game" but man, back in the day when I played this game, Chrono Cross, the music has always stuck with me. I've associated music to time periods of my life, like my musics tastes, or in this case - the music of this game. Call me crazy huh.

  • Yea man I hear you

  • you know, as we all do, this game and its music leaves a big imprint in our lives, i can remember each place in the game by the music played there. its not what i would call weird, its something im perfectly fine with:)

  • That's the truth!

I've never heard or played anything like chrono cross in my life, and everytime I hear the music or something remotely like it, it makes me think.

Such a huge impact of music shouldn't go to waste. I don't get how people can't love this game. It's deep to the level where you can barely call it a game anymore. It's a story.

May even be Square's greatest work. Sad thing is that not many people know of it.

  • :O awesome! chrono cross has been my all time favorite game since i discovered it when i was younger, unfortunately my discs got all messed up and now i cant find it anywhere to re-buy it :(

  • have always loved the game since I was 10 or smthing, have always loved the music in it too....though i've never given it much thought except to download it cuz it's so good. But I think that most of the music in games are part of eat makes it so gud....I wouldn't like a game with sucky music...

  • you play so much like malmsteen

  • WOW nice

  • Love that song. If you have time, take a look at my keyboard music. Video game inspired, but originals.

  • you look like him XD

    your hands! the rings ajajajajjaa

    are you his song

  • Also, I lol'd at "weeaboo".

Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Matsuda are the reasons I started playing piano and keyboard. Their music occupies a special place in my heart, and you do great justice to it.

  • If I was female, I'd have your children.

  • xD

    me too

  • Very nice! Is that an Ovation guitar?

  • this brings back good memories from a much simpler time in gaming. I would love to see the Chrono series revived.

  • I think that most games would not have such a driving force if the music was right....Games like chrono Cross should be way more famous because of the music, I mean the story and everything is amazing but the music set's it apart

  • amazing

  • Yasunori Mitsude is easily my favourite video game composer. I love both the soundtracks for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.

I also like reading your rants on the couple of songs I've watched from you.

  • That's what I thought, I just wasn't too sure.

  • Beautiful. This was performed very well. This is definitely up there as one of Mitsuda's best works. BTW, what kind of acoustic is that? I couldn't really tell.

  • that's a nice little interp. there, AND, I could be wrong but that sure does look like a leopard skin strap in the background ;)

  • Explain something to me - if you're so much better than him, where are your videos of you playing a guitar? Thought so

  • its been a month and he hasnt made a video :S

  • Its seems that he's alive and safe. I've read his last sign was 2 hours ago o_o

  • +fav for the comment alone lol, weaboo girls.

  • Well played man.

  • this one's really beautiful Peter... Of how much energy some of your songs have, I wouldn't expect you to almost make me cry...

    ...you never heard that

Sincerely, Foxon. (But ya, it is amazing...)

  • I've always loved this song. As a major fan of Square's games. I enjoyed this song in Chrono Cross many times.

But thats nothing compared to your music, your skills are masterful, it makes me find out a whole new appreciation for this song. Bravo, bravo on a job well done.

  • Lol dude, are you serious? You're attempting to pigeonhole my entire musical persona through analysis (and a terrible one at that) of ONE video? Are you really that narrow-minded or does your brain just skip the thinking process before you talk?

Here are some videos for you: Bloody Tears, Esperanto, and Clock Tower Stage.

As you can see, MOST of what I do IS improvise. Lmfao.

  • lol......owned.

  • First off this is an a great cover and differs from what you normally do. Variety is the spice of life :)

Second I want to say that I really like some of your video descriptions. Some are generic. Others are short but you are still able to express your passion for the piece and/or composer.

And then there are your long descriptions such as the one here which someone rightfully compared to an essay. It was very thoughtful and an unfortunately accurate commentary on the subject :P

  • Haha, thanks a lot man. I'm rewriting a lot of them because like you said, some of them are really generic.

Hopefully none of the more recent ones (as I've rewritten those..)? :P

  • None of the recent ones are generic lol.

    And once again awesome cover.

  • Nice job did you use the video description from a school essay? It was nicely written and so was your performance. You inspire me.

  • I love this song. But how did you get the tab?

  • Hey peter kim! Thanks for responding on my vid. ;) i haven't had a response on anything in a long time! (I also deleted all my other vids, so it wasn't really surprising really.)

Well, it's nice looking at your page again, wow over a million viewers ! :O you must be loved! (justified because of your playing skills obviously, as the viewers can see in this amazing video).

I wish you and your future carreer all the best.

    Goodluck and best wishes,

    Wietse

  • PERFECT song Thank you

  • hmmm...that weaboo comment was hilarious actually. i like many aspects of japanese culture, i'm a black female, and i think miyavi, gackt, and other girl-men like that are really scary.

fav song on the piano...underwater palace from chrono trigger. Mitsuda rocks!

  • People don't realize that one of the reasons Final Fantasy 7 is so memorable is the music behind it. Aeris's death wouldn't have been so tragic without her theme behind it.

The truth of the matter is if you can't listen to "Liberi Fatali" and be moved inside, you really don't know anything about music. There aren't many musicians who can use electronica, acoustic, classical piano, rock, orchestra, and many other genres as fluidly as Nobuo does. He's the Dream Theater of video games, haha.

  • I will join you in keeping the art of video game music, especially the old songs alive. Not many seem to understand the emotional connection you can have with a song. During a favorite scene, or a tragic moment, songs in video games have a lot of impact. So much so, one develops a love for them, a love for the good times and bad. I like how you did an amazing rendition of this song for your 100th video. It's so well placed in many ways. May the music from games live on forever!

  • YES YES YES!!!!!!!!

Ive developed love for songs by Mitsuda and Uematsu as I have any other artists I enjoy!!!! Long live Mitsuda and Uematsu!!!!! These guys will be known like Japans Bach or Beethoven!

  • Mitsuda the beast.

  • I never got to play chrono cross. I loved chrono trigger! loveit!

  • u pwn with that song dude

  • to me, this music is an addiction, only the passage of time can hinder(but not get rid of).

  • 5 stars for the song and execution

  • i love chrono cross and this song especially. keep it up!

  • i know what you mean man. I love videogame music. Alot of the greatest music i found was in rpgs. Ever listen to the Black Mages? i bet you have lol. Im glad you see things this way though and it is a shame that this music is underexposed. Lots of respect.

  • don't give up hope dude- anyone who's ever touched the game will forever be affected by its music

  • erm nice.

  • Wow!

    your totally awesome!!

and no offense but i think Yoko Shimomura is better than Nobuo Uematsu, well thats just me

    But anyways 5 STARS!!!

  • Say, would you do one from Chrono Trigger too? Like Corridors of Time, Undersea Palace, Black Omen or World Revolution or something? :3

  • Well said my friend. Video game music is a gem, eff Rap and techno and pop that all sound actually the same song to song. This stuff is unique, and not just because of the special place the game holds in our hearts.

  • Wow, i really like mitsuda's works, this one's great.

Your covers are really cool, is there any way of downloading the mp3 versions?

  • Yes,there is,just type in some p2p or torrent,Chrono Cross OST (original sound track)

    ^^

  • I was talking about downloading your cover, not the original one, i already have that one xD But thanks anyway

  • Wow, not your cover, but HIS cover, my mistake xD

  • wow, LOL

sorry,i thought was the CC musics, yeah i dont know how to download neither xD

  • "girls just wanna see some transgendered fags like Miyavi in a visual kei band to satisfy their bisexual lusts."

I find that hilarous as hell.

Also secret of mana has some beautiful music. By any chance you think you can do a cover for one of there songs.

  • You're right. One thing I love about games is the music that composers will go to major lengths just to give us a satisfying thing to listen to. Thank you for the melody. :)

  • sweet didnt think everyone liked all the games I played =P ff castlevania chrono cross

  • Man, i like nobuo uematsu too! Please add me to your friend list so I can write to you!!

  • yes, the red robe. a good break from the traditional white. just kidding. you are amazing.

  • Another great song, from one of my favorite games. I've yet to get all the endings in Chrono Cross.

  • OMG! you're such an awesome musician! you played that song so well, sounds just like it should sound... better yet... even better! =)

  • This song is what I remember correctly is very genial.y play great and play great addition to good work

  • oh yeah... and your the BEST, you ARE the musician....

  • Man, I've listened to this daily for the past week or so...and I've just had to comment. Ever time I hear it I get goosebumps...you are an amazing musician. Keep it up.

  • nice guitar,a perfect match and worthy to be played by you!!!!!!!

  • thats amazing, this song is already sweet and you made it that much more great!

  • omg...best rpg ever created...period.. i just wish kids these days only knew how a real rpg was made. now all we need is a scars of time remix XD

  • you know...its sad because there isnt many good rpgs coming out anymore ....i really like this game

  • totally agree... this was the last good RPG I played and the first one was Sega: Spell Caster...

  • :( i miss this game i wonder why squaresoft went with enix maybe just maybe they would come out with another chrono game ...............*o* why!!!?

  • I had login up just to do a commentary

Man you play very well, congratulations,

keep on the good line :D

  • i love Chrono cross, the music, the gameplay, the graphics, its all great. and to have all thies songs replayed on a gutar that i can watch on youtube just makes me want to cry. i had to stop the Unstolen Jewel song becouse of that. great game, great music. this is one game that i would recomend and as you can hear, the music is kick ass.

  • great job! me encanta! arni village song, how pretty ^^

  • Superb. Makes me think about that acoustic I had that sounded great for 3 months until it got like 4 hairline cracks in it. I'll learn this song soon, I need to learn some soothing stuff.

  • right on!

  • AWESOME JOB!! Arni Village.. *sniff*

    -LokiHeart

  • amazing. i miss that game
