@benargee omfg....... i dont care what you have ya know why? when your shit breaks and you go crying to the store who fixes it? I DO. and a LEGIT 120gb (or now 250gb) MS HDD AINT cheap. not like i care because i dont buy them i just make my own. but anyway. nobody cares what you have dude. im glad you have all that. been there done that. i have that and some. you have the right to an opinion not a useless comment. if you want to actually comment on the TOPIC AT HAND then feel free.
@scotland911 dude.... stfu this is old and all of my 120gb drives have been upgraded to 250gb's. oh and to those saying this wasnt a good idea. check out the new 360 S. STFU.
wow dude really im not stupid u built it in the xbox i did that with mine so i have a 60gb hard drive inside of my xbox and i have a 120gb hard drive in the hdd port so get a life
But what if you wanted to just take your hard drive to your friends house to play ur games on it or use ur profile then you would have to lug around an entire xbox
@benargee suck a dick. i dont care your opinion of it. it is useful to me as i now have a 250GB hdd in it. doesnt need to be removed. because your poor ass cant afford more than one storage device aint my problem. get off my channel and dont post. nothing but fuckin haters these days.... sad sad world.
@princi360 i removed the case and then hardwired the hard drives proprietary SATA connection straight to the ports connection to the motherboard. wasnt complicated wiring at all. was some small soldering job but it worked out well. :D
omg..... you dunce idiots. this is a test xbox as well as the vid is to show the 120gb internal hdd. get over yourself with the cuts! unless you have done it, in which case go critique ur own sht.
above the dvd drive on the jasper never got hotter than the ambient temp of the inside of the console. the zephyr and the falcon however that area was about 10 degrees hotter in the zephyr and 5 degrees warmer in the falcon.
nope wouldnt do that actually. above the dvd drive is not the area of highest heat like one would think because its above the gpu, as well as thats actually a jasper console now (512mb onboard memory) and the gpu doesnt even get warm to the touch. :P
I read all about that. The DVD drives sits right on top of the GPU, it made like a volcano. With the Jasper's 45nm GPU and CPU it reduced heat by like 10 degrees, plus there was a lot of other stuff like larger heat syncs and heat pipes.
But, I was worried that the added heat from the hard disk drive would compensate and burn it up. Did you test the heat that baby puts off?
souldered a sata cable to the hdd connector on the mobo and then routed it under the console onto the top of the dvd drive. as well as routing power to the same spot. then cut and sanded the plastic under the top of the xbox case so that it doesnt interfere with the spacing of the drive to the case causing that "hump" that you see on there now. that console looks very different now than in this old vid.
hey just throwing this out there...wouldnt it be easier to put the hd under the hdbay cover so you wouldnt have to solder anything and its ez to swap...just wondering because im planning on doing it soon.
no longer INTERNAL that way now is it? most ppl are so lazy these days..... the entire point is to do somethin different and challenging. not something that will take me 5 minutes. :|
uhm yeah INTERNAL still and it would be more practical as you can get at the hd easier. so turn down the ego as what you did would take me less than 5 mins but i figured why make you look bad.
are you mentally retarded? how is that inside the ACTUAL XBOX CASE? as well as that little mod wont make me look bad, because its not a mod, its a joke. my 5 year old cousin could do that if i told him how. stop being a lazy noob and solder it. oh wait i forgot you you rather take the easy way out. i hate lazy modders. this scene is losing its good guys one pathetic, lazy, dumbass at a time.
your all retarted, its not soldered to the mother baord or anything like that all he did was take the actually drive out of the casing, and tape it inside, i gauromothafuckntee it
i used a OEM 120gb hdd from microsoft gutted the case and fabricated my own connectors (from old ones) made a quick disconnect and then soldered the SATA connection straight to the motherboard.
that is pretty bitchin that you did that..i aint never seen this one b4 and ive seen alot..hell i say mod the case and and it clear so people can see the inside of that
looks pretty good and i like how you put a fan in yours i plan on doing the same thing great video thanks

i think this is dumb, you cant easily remove the hdd, and put it on another console, and this is nothing revolutionary.

that's awesome,, so if you wanted to can go and buy a 120 external HDD and have both of them
legendarybod 2 years ago
Is it possible too have 1 internal HDD on 20/120/250gb, and 1 normal (External) on 20/120/250gb ?
Fredis1993 2 years ago
nope its not. :-( SATA does not allow multiple devices per channel. which is the only thing really holding us back from doing that.
DrifterX3 2 years ago
Ahh, so shitty :(
Well, lets just hope that it will be possible later ;D
