Barack and Michelle Obama use this strategically. He is an African American when race serves him best and a "We Americans" when it serves another purpose. My family didnt worry much about color, diversity, etc; they were mostly about survival and creating their nest egg. That's an interesting point. What Civilizations haven't grown this way to one degree or another? In terms of the human race being on earth, the White Western lead in science, conquests, and human advancement, has only been a reletivly small amount years. The problem isn't the race of the immigrants but the culture dilution of Western values.

Western Christendom, the culture and values are a large part of the the reason you and I are on Computers over the internet. Real change on tough issues happens slowly. We are not in the same situation as in the days of MLK but frankly racism will always exist, color doesn't even need to be present it just make identifying who you hate easier. Irish Americans were oppressed by other whites at a time very, very severely. Don't get too disheartened most people just talk a lot of shot but don't have any real balls. There are usually enough sensible people to keep them at bay.

In a few hundred years the U.S. led as no other Empire or Nation has ever lead. Science, Industrialization, Medicine, every day it is a miracle that you have been blessed to live to see this age. I don't understand why you would compare those ancient cultures to the U.S. accomplishments. Granted they where awesome but who the hell is going to use a Pyramid?

Of course the pyramids can be recreated today if there was a demand for one. There are many theories as to how the pyramids where built in ancient times.

Historically the U.S. accomplishments made in it's short history and White Christendoms lead is irrefutable. Advancements by people of Color are a contribution that are not matched by the brethren in the originating nations.

Real change on tough issues happens slowly. We are not in the same situation as in the days of MLK but frankly racism will always exist, color doesn't even need to be present it just make identifying who you hate easier. Irish Americans were oppressed by other whites at a time very, very severely. Don't get too disheartened most people just talk a lot of shot but don't have any real balls. There are usually enough sensible people to keep them at bay.

I'll never understand racism...it's just pigmentation! Why does that make anyone less or more of a person? i don't even understand why there are considered to be different races. Seeing as I'm a huge nerd, i'll talk about in fantasy how the different races are elves, dwarves. humans, etc. Even if the colour of skin is different, we're still all human. So, the way I see it, not a different race at all.

Dogs and coyotes are a different species, and have different genetics. Humans with different skin colours are still the same on the inside.

@IChooseConservitive It may have something to do with the fact that the white man is seen as the oppressor (all over the world) and there's a bad history behind the name. Since only about 9% of the population is black, there's seems to be quite an imbalance between white and black.
Now personally, I havent used the word 'cracker' in decades; but I hear the other word somewhere nearly every day. I guess it has to do with social norms. I can't say though.

I know I live in the south, and travel for work to NY, PA, NJ, etc, and the race issue does not seem as big as here in the south. The only thing I feel we have in America is lots of lazy ass people not wanting to do anything to better themselves....that goes for all colors that are here. Too many want to live on welfare...yes the WANT to live on welfare! So they keep having children, they don't properly take care of those children and their education and so therefore the cycle begins over again. Far as too many non-whites...One day there is not going to be just "black, white..." everyone will be mixed.
