  • I can show you how to do it ...=)

  • ''Firebot'' and you are probably the best players of this game I've seen on you tube but in this mission unfortunately not know how to make the star that is hidden in the big boat...

  • Dude, this brings back such wonderful memories..

This is my favourite stage and stage 8 as well..

at point 1:52, when you destroy the bridge with the mega crush, you can quickly fly in between and get a gold star - $50,000 bonus..

Otherwise this is a near flawless run, trust when i was younger i'd be doing this on extreme and it is impossible not to get hit once.

By the way, the Seavet is modelled of the German World War 2 Battleship the Bismarck - i made a comparison and it matched.

  • this is the greatest song a snes could support!!!

  • This level is so hard I keep dieing. Some stupid guy says this level is easy but no matter what, I ALWAYS DIE!!!!!

  • good game muy bueno pero dificil a la vez

    XD

  • i have a dude... battleship (snes) is the same with un squadron (snes)????

or the same with area 88 (snes)?

  • I hate that level!!! I never beat it in one try. So staying below, rather than above those triple barrel cannons, is the key? BTW, I agree with what someone else said, the A10 Thunderbolt is much easier to use on this.....

  • I always liked the A10 better for this mission

  • Yeah! Good work dude! Nice. Woot Woot Woot. Fancy flying there good man.

  • This was my favorite stage because of that song:). Snes games always had some great music. And I always found it funny back then that one aircraft can single handedly destroy an entire battleship. Maybe I should start watching that anime area 88 sometime.

  • Yes to both statements. The SNES music outshines the NES soundtracks, especially with games like Chrono Trigger. The anime has equally amusing scenarios.

  • Man! I could never pass this stage no matter how hard I tried at it! And you played through this stage very well! Awesome job! I always liked the music in this stage; to me it sounds like it could be a surf music type theme if it was played with real rock and roll instruments.

  • What is with you. you made it look easy to kill that thing. when i was doing it , it felt like world war 3 but i still killed the thing. nice flying!! o i think it felt like world war 3 coz i didn't bring any s weps for my plane.

  • Thank you for the comment. This stage has a lot of fast enemies so it was difficult for me to stay alive when I practiced.

  • I haven't played this game in such a long time I probably lost my touch.

  • At least they give you 2-3 continues but at the last stage you'll need them.

  • to me, this was stage 7

  • You sunk my Battleship! You sunk my Battleship!!

  • The Carrier was last stage and much easier yet Carriers are usually larger than battleships according to the game.

  • damnyoutube--Damn son...you don't realize you just made my day today

  • Glad I could be of service Shinatsu. Still working on the last two stages right now, 9 will be up shortly and hoo boy.

  • The only penalty however is, if you die you lose the cash X3

  • great play...

btw, there is a star that you missed on the ship.

it located in the middle of the ship, you have to fly over the ship again to find it.

and why didn't you pack all the weapons u could mount?

at the end it will give you more cash because of the added ammo.

  • Yeah I missed the health spiral. In order to get it I would have to destroy both parts of the bridge and as you said I'd need to fly over again. Still that'd make the video longer and might make the download longer too.

I thought you were given the exact amount you paid for weapons in the end? Hence 3000 Cluster /10 = 300 per each cluster you didn't use.

  • You got money for 11 shots worth of Clusters giving you 11000$, more then the 10000$ you paid originally for your first 10 shots. If you had bought all the weapons, you would double the money made at the end as your ammo would have been doubled for the 2 weapons you didn't use. In other words there is no penalty at all for buying all weapons, and you can actually get a bonus if you find more ammo.

  • If anyone has knowledge about the XVID codec please message me. I am tired of the files being so damn huge with such a short video length. If that wasn't bad enough, the quality changes randomly throughout the video. Sometimes you can make out the airplanes clearly, other times they get so aliased they just look like blobs.

  • What are you using right now to make your videos? I use ZSNES and dump my videos using MEncoder and LAME (see the ZSNES boards on how to do this). It makes for picture perfect videos encoded through XVid (my own UN Squadron video is crystal clear and only about 20-30 MB large http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWfOnSba69c).

  • As for the quality of the video, there are times there is little you can do, especially if the background changes a ton (see my youtube video of MMZ3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M8t6H23A9I for an example of how pixaleted it can get). It's actually an issue with Youtube encoding, not XVid as my video the original video is crystal clear.

  • I first use SNES9x and record as an uncompressed AVI. And then fire up Virtualdubmod. In there I set a bunch of parameters in the XVID window such as setting the bitrate to 100 kbps.

I think problem lies with the audio, my final video ends up being over 1500 kbps but I can't reduce the audio kbps. I have the following options

  • I'm using the Advanced Simple @ L5 profile. I do a two pass encoding type. My target bitrate size is 320. I have used Matroska, OGG, and AVI-OpenDML Containers, and I use Variable bitrate set to an average of 32 kbps. All of these and I still can't lower the kbps of the final video. I've seen anime with 320 kbps and they look a lot better with that size kbps. WHAT IS THE SECRET OF THE FANSUBS
