Vaccines are not some stupid government conspiracy to control your mind. If you knew the science behind how vaccines worked, you would know how relatively safe they were, and how useful they are as far as preventative medicine goes. You'll find no reputable, respectable, high-impact medical journals that spout the moronic idea that vaccines do more harm than good.
@sackyhack89 Yes, pharmaceutical companies are about profits because well they're a business and they need to recoup the expenses of R&D (drug trials and getting everything set up for a new drug is expensive as hell). Vaccines however are cheaply produced, and they're eficacy has been proven not only in lab conditions, but also in real life. You don't hear about people dying of polio or smallpox anymore (and other serious illnesses like mumps, rubella, and cancers caused by HPV).
I understand the skepticism towards pharmaceutical companies, but the facts are that vaccines are an invaluable tool for preventative care, and if you don't vaccination yourself or your child, you're putting them and others at risk. if herd immunity goes down enough to where a pandemic can break out from smaller pockets of the population, many people will be at risk. Herd immunity is what protects those who don't get vaccines or those who have an ineffective immune response to the vaccinations.
I can't wait until innocent people who have poor immune responses become ill because some ill-informed morons stop getting vaccines, and we have an epidemic of measles or polio because not enough people get vaccinated to allow for herd immunity to take effect and protect everybody else.
If you're too stupid to protect yourself from deadly viruses and end up debilitated or deceased from your actions, that's your deal, but when your stupidity effects other people, that's when I have a problem.

@sackyhack89 Yes, pharmaceutical companies are about profits because well they're a business and they need to recoup the expenses of R&D (drug trials and getting everything set up for a new drug is expensive as hell). Vaccines however are cheaply produced, and they're eficacy has been proven not only in lab conditions, but also in real life. You don't hear about people dying of polio or smallpox anymore (and other serious illnesses like mumps, rubella, and cancers caused by HPV).

I understand the skepticism towards pharmaceutical companies, but the facts are that vaccines are an invaluable tool for preventative care, and if you don't vaccination yourself or your child, you're putting them and others at risk. if herd immunity goes down enough to where a pandemic can break out from smaller pockets of the population, many people will be at risk. Herd immunity is what protects those who don't get vaccines or those who have an ineffective immune response to the vaccinations.

They also state that serious reactions are much more likely to be reported than minor ones, even if they are only coincidental and unrelated to the vaccines.
