  • If you want that toy, look in an online store

  • I used to own that toy...

  • @encinostalgia

where did you get it? my name is zor and i've been looking for this toy for over a year! lol

  • @encinostalgia Me too, cool that it would turn and shoot at you.

  • this toy is the most epic creation on the face of the earth.

  • lol its so awesome bcause my name is zor...hahaha!

  • Got this for christmas 1962. at age three.

  • Thanks for posting this! I got one of these when I was a kid. Best toy ever!

  • the holy grail of all toys back then

  • Man, I forgot I had this toy until I put some old 8mm films on DVD and their it was...it really did come around towards you if you hit it's tail...but what they call missiles in the commercial were actually litte plastic balls

  • what the fuck, when i was a kid i just had a shitty gameboy and nintendo , now dont get me wrong, i love what i grew up with, but really , we had fucking robot toys like king zor, why in the hell didnt we further this tech instead of shitty spawn Action Figures(dolls) and gi hoe...man this makes me feel like my generation had a lame upbringing..this one toy..

  • This was the best toy I ever had.

  • King Zor vs the Great Galoo! Toys were so cool back then!

  • I'd love to have

a fully functioning King Zor myself!

    Why?

Because King Zor looks like one of the very best toys ever made!

  • Oh I'm sure this worked like a dream.

  • Monsters and projectiles! those were the days! When did we become a nation of PC pussies? I blame Sesame Street!

  • Reminds me of "Dinotank" from Ultraseven. It looks almost exactly like him in the head.

Very cool. might be "Ideal ESP".

Ibet kids used to fight him against Great Garloo.

King Zor can crap bigger than Son of Garloo.

  • Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Throw in some firecrackers and get that kid on his Stingray to shoot at it with his bow-and-arrow set!

  • The Army had a version of this, only it launched an M-1 Grenade.

  • Thanks for the post. When I was 5, this is what I wanted for Xmas - but it was nearly impossible to find. When I finally got one - it didn't work. All it did was go around in circles - it didn't go forward, backward or fire its missiles. While watching The Christmas Story on TV - I'm always reminded of King Zor. I don't think it lasted more than this one year.

  • i have one of these

  • I had 1 of these and ALL my friends and I loved it. But I remember it being slightly different and looking more realistic. I don't know if it was a different version or if it was just more magnificent looking to my young eyes.

  • King Zor has the same birthday as I do. 1962. It's pretty cool to share that with a Dinosaur. Especially one that fights. ;-)

  • Wouldn't it make more sense to shoot at the head rather the tail?

  • Thats the effect of 50's-60's B-Movies for ya.

Nothing makes sense and no one seems to care.

  • he's huge!

  • i have one of these

  • I had forgotten about this toy. I was maybe 6 or 7, got it for my birthday. I wore out plenty of batterys on this guy as a kid. Lotsa fun on a rainy day.

  • My favorite childhood toy....brings back alotta memories. Thx.

  • If it were a real king, I would bow to it.

  • that must be the coolest 60's toy ive ever seen.

i thought all 60's toys were just puppets and metalic, mechanical wind-up key toys/

  • Between him and The Great Garloo.. I was a happy camper.

My 2 most favorite toys EVER!!!

  • WOW!! I remember this commercial!! I got one for Christmas when I was 6 or 7. I'm sorry we ever got rid of it. It would be worth a fortune today. My favorite toy ever!

  • I had one of these too. Who would ever guess I could see one again on YouTube.

  • AWESOMEe

  • They had robot dinosaurs in the 60's? That toy looks so fun!

  • @xXShadowLugiaXx It was fun. I had one. I kept it for many years. I had lost the darts and gun, but I still had him. Mine had a small stone stuck in the back. I had also lost the yellow balls. I found out however it would shoot small sized stones. I just got one that was too small and it got stuck. I still kept him. Sadly he was left behind on a "midnight move". I was at My dad's for the weekend. Came back to a new place, and no King Zor. I miss him so much

  • Those fun, innocent days of our youth. Wish they were back.

  • Those good ole innocent fun days of our youth. Wish they were back.

  • I had one of these back in 1962 or 63. I totally forgot what the name of this toy was, but I remember playing with it for hours. I wanted one of these so bad for Christmas. Funny what your priorities are when you're a kid. What great memories this video brings back. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • Excellent...Thanks for posting!

  • I used to have a King Zor, too! The darts never stuck to the tail, but it still would turn around and lob a little pingpong ball at you! AAAHHH!

  • I got one of these for my 8th birthday back in '62. I remember the commercial seemed so real! I never thought I would see this commercial again. Just absolutely amazing!

  • I'm so glad I found this—it was my favorite toy when I was a little girl. Now they're going for $600 on eBay! Thanks!!

  • What a cool toy. All I had were transformers... and they never came after me.
