  • You know Andy always hired actors. Do you think that one in the middle is a young Tracy Morgan? I kinda think so.

  • did andy really adopt these guys?

  • @funkybum yes

  • Every clip of Andy Kaufman is like a David Lynch movie.

  • Niggermaniacs love dis

  • @BlackJackLanza You'll have to help me. What does that mean?

  • We love you Andy, and your children too!

  • I think Lettermans demographic back in his early days was a much younger people than it is now. Their laughs alone crack me up. :D

  • "Pop! You did Elvis!" l m f a o.

  • I can't get that fuckin' version out of my mind... Is better than Elvis. Not even Elvis could rock like Elvis in the way Kaufman did it.

    Beautiful children.

  • The guys are excellent.

  • No one... and I do mean no one... besides Andy himself knew what the real joke was when he was on stage. His whole act was an inside joke that only he knew... was he trying to really be awkward and make people laugh at something that he himself knew wasn't funny... or was he really not that good? When he was serious on stage, was it because he was truly melancholy or was it more audience manipulation? We will never know... but one thing is for sure... the man was brilliant.

  • this is great ... !

  • i found this so fuckin funny lol i couldnt believe how classic this was!

  • before madonna, andy adopting african american kids

  • anyone can tell me the name of the elvis song?

  • I forgot how funny-crazy he was. TV comedy is so predictable and dull now we could use someone like him to emerge.

  • I think what got Kaufman to do his elvis was when Letterman said "Do it for the kids" :)

  • He's a total genius! Gotta love him!

  • No audio here but you can at least use the CC control for captions.

  • Andy's humor was so unique. I will always laugh out loud while watching this. Never gets old.

  • the greatest comedian/performer of all time...god rest his soul.

  • "Pop"?

  • wow, amazing "elvis"

  • "This is the guy I'm gonna mug." hahahaha. "It's meaningful." Hahaha.

I love Andy Kaufman so much.

  • Are the other three just local guys or did they end up on something else?

  • no one will ever come close to the comedic genius of andy...im 34,and i can just barely remember some of the antics he pulled off...thanks so much for posting

  • Yep. Showbiz can be a struggle.

  • love his elvis, it was kind of the stick in the eye showing he really could perform "traditionally" as good as anyone else.

But his comedy was so far out of bounds and beyond anything it still remains untouched. Sascha Baron Cohen comes close (which is a compliment). But no one yet has ever matched Andy Kaufman.

  • @whatisbestinlife Joaquin Phoenix

  • @whatisbestinlife Very good point!

  • @whatisbestinlife Robin Williams comes close,

  • pop do elvis.classic.

  • this guy was a genius!

  • I love this

  • This is really, really, funny.

  • I love this guy! =)

  • Folks who say Kaufman is not funny have no sense of humour or any kind of personality. I think that Sasha Cohen is a Kaufman wannabe.

Kaufman is the standard for comedy.

  • I wouldn't say "standard", but certainly exceptional rule.

  • So, why bother visiting a Kaufman video? I mean, I'm just curious.... Just to say "he's not funny"? Please tell me you have more brains than that.

  • Sure, pal.

  • @hpufo The problem is not that he's unfunny, but that you expected him to be funny. And now you're disappointed and it's completey your fault.

  • Fuck anyone who says a bad word about Andy Kaufman.

  • @duncan36 Andy Kaufman's whole career was based on negativity. That's one of the reasons why he was so famous... Read up kid

  • We live in the world were Andy dies young and the insensitive, doglike pricks live on forever.

  • Boy, do I know it... lol.

  • Is this where they stole the plot for Me, Myself and Irene?

  • They didn't steal it, it was a tribute.

  • Where was that stated anyway?

  • I was replying to your question, just read your own comment...

  • No no, I mean, did the makers of Me, Myself and Irene give credit to Kaufman ?

  • Oh, sorry. I don't know, but I'm pretty sure they credited him; I heard someone talking about this on TV, but I don't remember exactly...

  • I really love hearing his playful, gentle voice.

He looks like a guy coming out from a fairy tale: maybe that's why I like him so much, he makes me dream...

  • did he really adopt rhese kids?

  • I think they were a little grown up for him:-)

Maybe they could have adopted Andy! ;)

  • SillyCrazyInsane,

Tenkiu veddy much for all your postings.

    Stella

  • I ve never seen this one ! Letterman loves Andy! How many times he's been on this show? Thx for posting this! - Maatt

  • According to his IMDb page, he was on Letterman eleven times, all in 1982 and 1983.

He did something totally off-the-wall every time.
