Someone posted 8 months ago saying that Sherten was in jail for singing this song. Is/was that true? He is a friend of mine - I used to live in Tibet/China - but I have not been in touch with him for a while. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
friends i like this song v much. really this guy is doing a great job songing such meaning full songs. this song convays a great massage to the youngerster of tibet.
Sherten is in Prison for singing this peace song. He is not political. There are many singers imprisoned for singing cultural and peace song ie Namkha, Jam Yankyi, Monlam, Drolma Gyab and more. This dictatorship regime is the worst in the whole world. Communist China is the only country that imprisons and execute singer. This is crazy, we must stop the bullying and harassment to those voiceless. China still continues to violate international HR rights law.

The amdo accent sounds very different from central tibetan. The first time I heard it I didn't think they were speaking Tibetan either :-P so its cool. (I thought they were speaking mongolian. I was like "why are they speaking Mongolian on a Tibetan vcd??") 'course now I can sorta understand amdo so I'm lucky hehehe
Please watch what you say. Sherten is one of the most patriotic Tibetans singers in Tibet. Did you just listen to the song? What it says? It will blow your mind out if you understand what he is saying in this song! It sounds like you don't understand Tibetan (subtitles, duh!)

i m not Tibetan...duh urself and moreover i already had applogised. It sounded chinese coz i m familar wit the original Tibetan language.
