This video was helpful and informative for me in more ways than one. I am still a beginner, so I don't feel I am ready to try this out yet, but it was interesting to find out that I apparently learned how to knit English style. So I will do a little more research on the two different styles and get more practice in before I try this. Thanks so much!
Knittinghelp usually has some really great instructional vids, but I am not keen on this one. Not trying to be cruel or mean, but the demonstrator flits about too much, and the constant "ums" get in the way of her explanations. Also, while there is a lot of info on holding the colors, little or no time was spent on tension, chart reading, or what to do if there are several rows with no color. Very poor instructional vid, imo.
@tearxofthephoenix Instead of making a rude comment about her fingers why not just NOT watch the video. Go spread your unnecessary and negative attitude somewhere else please :) And just so you know "quite" is the correct spelling.
@TheSilentPrincess LOL you and i sure both have too much time on our hands, honey. and i apologize profusely for the mispelling of the word, quite, your highness. you literature goddess, you. your'e so brilliant your radiance blinds me.
@tearxofthephoenix Thanks for proving my point. I don't have too much time on my hands at all, I am just tired of immature jerks spreading negative garbage around You Tube.
Thank you for showing how to do the wrong side of the knitting. I had no idea how to do this. I was knitting that side and wondered why my knitting looked the same on both sides. You have explained it very well.
I discovered I was doing this when I taught myself how to change colors by holding the two color strands, one in each hand. I'm going to try this for my Drops Alaska Jacket, thanks!

One really good way to keep the yarn from tangling -- which I assume you mean here -- is that you don't cut anything. If you cut off the two skeins, you have to knot them in again later to keep from unraveling, and knots in the work means it doesn't lay right.
To keep the yarn from tangling with the other color, keep each ball in an open ziploc bag, or in a Yarn Bowl.
Thank you for the video! it shows how to do Failr Isle on the wrong side, as opposed to knitting in a circle. I had to learn it using common sense.

Brilliant video, very easy to follow! Can anyone point me in the direction of a video that instructs you how to knit woven fair isle?

when you cast on, do you only cast on one colour, then add the other yarn latter??
Great video by the way.
Also, when you turn the knitting around do you put the same colour yarn in the same places?

How much yarn do you normally keep wrapped up? Do you keep cut a few yards off and ball them up?

great video!
but how would you start adding your second color? do you just add the second yarn in by simply knitting with that one and tucking the ends in later?
