  • witch programm do you use to write the .iso to the usb drive

  • For those who want to know how to make a usb pendrive XP, it's the same as doing an Usb install Linux.

You need a ISO of the cd, burn it on a pen with a "iso to pendrive" tool.

    Then boot from pendrive.

  • hey if i bought a usb disk drive and the windows xp disk would i be able to simply install it??

  • Do you only have to write the ISO on the usb and then install it over xp?

  • What size USB drive is that?

  • whats that song called :P }

    LOVE IT <3

  • Did you use the Acer drivers for the wireless? I can't seem to get the wireless to work on vista. Thanks

  • change the power settings

  • acr . com /suport and look for the driver for vista

  • Because Microsoft done Vista to make you buy a bigger pc.

They push to train people to think that their pc are slow and obsolete.

    So you will pay forever.

  • how do you make an USB to Install Windows?

  • on startup press f2 then boot options then boot via usb

  • you re crazy.... why you do that.....

xp works better in acer 110 than vista....

worklife of that netbook... not be so long ..

  • Maybe it's a test to see a Heavy and useless crapware running on an Intel Atom....

    I don't see other needs.

Expecially if comparing a full XP with a "light" vista

  • can u get all drivers to work properly? wifi, graphics, ethernet, etc... I couldnt get graphics to look smaller on mine and it wouldnt recognize some drives so I went back to xp.

  • Yeah, I got all of the drivers to work. Are you using TinyVista? That helps... no bloatware-drivers to get in the way.

The only driver I couldn't ever get to work was the ethernet port... but I never use that, so it was just an annoyance, not a problem.

  • how did you get the disk to load? I am on vista and have the same model as you, but when i tell it to boost the vista usb drive it goes to the linux screen!

  • How? Did you use UltraISO to write the disk image to your USB drive? That makes all the difference.

  • Thanks - I'll give that a whurl! cheers!

  • ~lol~ just switch to Linux ubuntu its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better and you can do a duel boot!

  • Ubuntu is way too bloated and since when did OS's fight?

  • does anyone know if the acer aspire one can run vista buisness? or can it only handle vista basic?

  • It *could* run Vista Business... but that's a REAL stretch for it. Which model do you have? 'Cause if you have the 8GB SSD, then it's really not worth it. Anything more than Vista Lite (Vista Basic is even larger than the custom Vista Lite) will need at least 1GB of RAM and at least 10GB of fast storage to run off of.

That said... 2GB, 60+GB HD... it *could* do Vista Business. But why would you? Aero won't work anyways, and if you run Sidebar it'll be almost unusable. Not worth it.

  • i dont own one yet i am buying it tomorrow .

im getting the one with 120gb hdd 1gb ram.

i have an external dvd drive that i will use to install the vista dvd.

120gb hard rive and 2gb of ram should be plenty enough for basic im sure but for vista buisness do you think i could make it work if i disable aero?

  • oops i meant 1gb of ram

  • hi please tell me how u install the vista lite on the acer aspire one i want that too but i dont know how to do that

  • That's what this video shows. Just follow it. Simple.

  • how u make usb drive bootable?

  • You simply load the disk image onto your USB drive. If you don't know how to do this, you shouldn't even be trying. Just go get yourself an external CD drive in that case.

  • Yeah, I don't get why so many people are using a beta for their main OS, or even an RC.

  • great thanks

  • hey where did you download the ethernet and wi-fi drivers from? i've tried so many drivers but none of them work :( i'm using the 32-bit vista ultimate.

    thanks

  • thats tight

  • i dont like vista that much

  • why not (how old r u)

  • well vista is still unstable and is very glichy thats why windows 7 is coming out.

windows 7 is vista but only more stable and more drivers work with it. oh and im 14

  • Windows 7 is not Vista, Vista is NT6 and Win7 is NT6.1

Thats like saying Windows XP is Windows 2000, but only more stable. They are different Kernels all together.

  • theres this acer aspier one thats fully loaded it has:

    1.5GB DDR2 of ram

    1.60GHz intel cpu

    160GB HDD

its the best one i have seen

  • when it comes up to the where you save vista, what do you do, because it says i need to reformat the drive but i dont know how, can u help?

  • Shut up But no really how do you reformat the drive we both need help

  • hi please tell me how i can install vista on my acer aspire one via usb flash drive i have one to

  • You Need At Least A 8GB USB Stick since the Windows XP is about 5.5GB and Vista is Rated At 7.3GB so still i reccommend 16GB but 8GB is ok if you have one. Now burn a disk image probably by Nero(free download at nero(dot)com) and put it on your usb drive OR download vista's iso from Microsoft. If you cant find it and have vista on your PC (not acer a1) get the WINDOWS folder and as i said burn an iso and put it on the USB. Now put it into the laptop and it should ask you "install" and select YES

  • Actually, the Vista operating system itself is about 2gb. My friends dad is a computer technician and he told me that when I was looking at the 4gb flash drives he had in his shop. He's used them to boot Vista before so yeah even 2.5gb should be fine just to boot it up.

  • Truth im a big nerd too

  • Umm, ok. Anyway, on the subject of flash drives, I just bought an 8GB thumb drive and my family has two new computers, so I was wondering if you're still sure about how you do that booting thing, and if it would be the same for Windows 7. My friend has a Windows 7 beta CD and an assistant at The Good Guys recommended trying Windows 7 because I was complaining about how crap vista is.

  • I Have Windows 7 On My Desktop PC I Downloaded It From Microsoft LOL But Yeah 7 Is WAYY Better Than Vista =)

  • Awesome, thanks!

  • what's the name of the program you used?

  • how many gigs does the hardrive have??can i buy a bigger 1???

  • Get a technician to have a look at it. I was considering installing XP and giving my friend my Vista so I could use my wireless. I looked all over the internet for drivers, I swear I could have looked for weeks. Then I had a technician get the drivers, took him five minutes and I didn't really have to explain anything. He just gave me the software and now I'm using wireless.

  • whats the name of this song

  • Get it on

    Paul Oakenfold and Bad Apples

  • if i installed vista premuim on my 1.6 ghz, 120 gig hd, 1g ram acer one aspire, would it lag???

  • No it wouldn't.

  • That exceeds vista's reccomended system requirements, so no it wouldn't

  • don't expect aero to work. This laptop has complete basic graphics.

  • Actually Aero is working!

  • really? What's your vista experience index rating for graphics?

  • What webcam driver do you install for your acer one in vista? Mine is not working

  • what do u use to write to a usb drive?

  • Where did you get the drivers for vista? Nice music by the way!

  • wait...is that your iphone? i thoguht u had a nokia

  • takes about 45 min for me on my 5400 80gb hdd to do a clean install from disk

  • I have AAO 8G. would it be slower if I change Linux Lite with Vista Lite?

  • Bravo!

I'm going to use Linux, I think it is much more suitable for these kind of Netbook.
