I must admit this is in sort of bad taste for ESPN. If they wanted to identify how the public perception of an athlete is evaluated against the backdrop of race, they could have taken a different approach, instead of taking the easy road and blatantly displaying a digital picture of a white Michael Vick. What Michael Vick did was wrong, whether the public perspective of him is influenced by whether he is black or white is a conundrum that only lies on the periphery as racial overtones.
