The side story is set in the European warfront, where a unit made of boys and girls from Zone Eleven is sent into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival.

he IS alive. Special DVD version in Japan, NOT availible to non-Japanese countries.

However R3 is before R2 so it dosen't matter really.
