it's painful, you want to say no to it? do you think Anna followed a prayer schedule? the point is prayer, communication in our relationship w/God is supposed to be a normal part of our everyday life. your prayer and activities are supposed to be guided by the Holy Spirit, not a church committee. your timing is supposed to be determined by God, not man. no wonder she's tired. prayer is a simple and natural expression, but if you need a script i would suggest a careful reading of Matthew 6.

i believe she is speaking more of the intercessory prayer, rather than just prayer. it is draining. the intense feelings that come over you for people you've never met never seen before and at times you have no idea their situation. I have had this happen to me twice and have had friends who this happens to regularly b/c they are intercessors. it's hard to explain but it's simply more than just praying. i totally understand what she's saying.

A house of prayer is what we so need (Isaiah 56:7). All great moves of God begin with prayer beginning with Pentecost (Acts 1:14). Prayer, as Leonard Ravenhill wrote, is the acid test of devotion.

also, i believe she was probably referring to what she was feeling in the flesh. Our flesh cries out, Oh God, I don't know if I can take on this pain anymore. Intercessors don't follow a schedule but God's. That's why she mentioned it's just easier to go in the closet and love Jesus (or whatever she said). It is easier. But, in the supernatural, God will always provide enough strength for what He has called us to do. I love that they use the term intercessory missionaries. Appropriate term, IMO.
