  • Saw these guys several times at the Philly Spectrum. Best show was on the revolving round stage. If anyone has any video of this show I'd love to see it. I believe it was on the Toremato tour. Thanks

  • The first time I saw them was in 1974 Long Beach Arena in the round. They were always great every time I saw them.

  • I love Yes forever. Interesting posting.

  • Ha......this is Yes' Hey Jude.....with that ending going on forever.

  • Their writing and performance was just so strong around the Yes Album period. Fragile was great after that then Close to the Edge. When Bill Bruford left, so did I.

  • Like the vid here but the sound quality just does not do it for me regardless the concert would have been better one hopes for shore well allways loved yes even when t5hey sound sound half half laugh lol its the production.

  • welcome ,

  • People who clap in attempted tempo during live concerts should have their fingers attached to their skulls with roofing nails.

  • @patcallow

    Screws are better.

  • Yeah ! Yes !

  • the drums sounds very strong Allan, good solo steve!

  • OK, you're all going to think that I'm bullshitting. We caught this show in Providence, Rhode Island in August 1977. The set ended with Awaken. The first encore was Starship Trooper. The second was Roundabout, which had an intro similar to that of Your's Is No Disgrace from Yessongs. The band left the stage and the lights came on. Roadies got on wth the stage breakdown. The crowd remained for 15 minutes, the lights dimmed and Yes returned with Trooper. Unreal.

  • @Aggromerchant

    They returned with YIND, digo.

  • @Aggromerchant I think I was at the same show...did Ace play first? And was it the during the Relayer tour with Pat Moraz?

  • @Aggromerchant You are not bulshitting when Yes came to the Providence Civic Center in 1977. I was there back sage with my buddies trying to get the group to play another song. There must have been 10 or more of us on the stage when Yes came back on. It was an awsome concert!!

  • @scj247247

So, it was you and your pals! Great job.

  • @Aggromerchant Funny how we just couldn't get enough encores and were grateful for every one we did get.You just never wanted their shows to end.

  • Excelente, como tudo!

  • The Going For The One tour was their great reach out and say "We LoveYou " tour. Our gift. Thanks for a great summer of 77.

  • Wow. That was awesome

  • wow nice version of this good stuff especially the cool wurm chord part

  • Looks like they got a whole different sound for this by '79. And I though the '73 version was a far cry from the original. This just has everything!

  • Gotta ask, what was there a skip at 2:03?

  • @Triewer Never noticed the before. Sounds like you were listening very closely.

  • @kramsmad8 Bleeding obvious mate

    pay attention

  • @m13y My copy doesn't have a skip. Probably happened while uploading. Haven't really listened to it here until Triewer pointed it out.

  • First,we like our YES in full form, and when the exact point comes we are very happy!

  • Where has this attic box been hidden??

  • You are correct. The 1979 versions of Starship Trooper are the best ever!!!! 1978 versions are 2nd best. You can watch The Philadelphia 1979 version on youtube. It's beyond comprehension

  • I think Rick is a little too greedy in this version of ST (1st time ive heard this version)

  • Comment removed

  • well now, I just noticed his Rick in one of the pix, my error...!

  • ... from your pix here, looks like Squire was using a Fender bass, not his signature Rick...! I definitely prefer the '79 version of Trooper better than this; this one's good; 79's better, tho...

  • @kewlbreez77 Funny how you noticed that. I did put some Tormato tour pics on here by mistake. I think I have the 79 version of this up but I'll have to check and see. If not, I'll put it up. I like it better also.

  • @kramsmad8 this 79 version is from wembley? someone had it on youtube but deleted it...best version to me also...lol

  • @johnfudencio I did have the 79 version up (Wembley) under a different account which got deleted for some reason. I'll try and get it up again within the next three days.

  • @kewlbreez77 dude there random pictures from different shows and different songs how the hell are u goin to say hes using one bass if ur not actually seeing him play

  • @kewlbreez77

Squire used the Fender Jazz Bass for a few songs. One of them was Parallels.

  • Comment removed

  • @kewlbreez77 Looks like this is a picture from Parallels, not Starship Trooper, which explains the Jazz bass.

  • Thnx f/ posting; my 1st Yes show was Philly '77, saw them 4, or 5 times from '77 - '80 @ the ole Spectrum. I only remember one "Yes In The Round" show from '79, I think; barely remember that, as it is... hmm... ;-)

I think '79 they were better than here, liked Starship Trooper better then. Njoy the music....

  • Thanks for posting this.

The Going For The One tour is my favorite of all Yes tours.

The band sounded great, Jon's voice was the best it ever was and this recording proves that.

    AWESOME!!!

  • @66TJP I think Anderson's voice was the best ever on the Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe tour in 1989. It was powerful as hell plus he had the added authority of being older. If you haven't seen it , watch ABWH An Evening of Yes Music Plus and you'll see what I mean.

  • @66TJP Yes, '77 was my fav, too, though 78-9 are right behind. '77 was not about the 'show', just the band playing and jamming. Yes, simply amazing!

  • @66TJP Too bad they were touring for a lousy album.

  • @CatapultYourMom To each their own. GFTO is my favorite Yes album followed very closely by CTTE. And of course the first two, YES and Time and a Word.

  • @66TJP Going for the One is polished to the point of sounding like New Age. It's still a great album & certainly the best produced & best sounding Yes Album of all time but best sounding does not equate to artistically best realized. Everything from Yes Album to Topographic Oceans trumps it, in my humble-assed opinion. What I want to know is why come back after a New Age masterpiece like Going to the One with a gigantic turd like Tormato ? .

  • @metamorphosis67 ????? why would you say that about Tormato?? i mean, i know the album got some negative criticism, but have you listened to Onward?? that is an awesomely beautiful song! i also think Madrigal, Release Release, Future Times/Rejoice and On The Silent Wings Of Freedom are great songs.

  • Wish you had the video. Still cool! I really LOVE YES so this is ok but VIDEO would be great, The audio will have to do and it is excellent. Thanks!!! Hey the pics r great also ru sure this is from 77? That 's when I went to see YES and what? But Luv ya for the Audio it is great. I LOVE YES Thank You again.!!!
