  • Charles Nelson Reilly wants to get a girl?

  • Great to see Lee J so loose

  • YOur grandfather was great. I remember him on The Ed Sullian Show. He said that his doctor told him to start using Saccarine instead of sugar. He said that he developed artificial diabetes.

  • Two of my favorite entertainers of all-time are in this clip. The incomparable Dean Martin of course, whose music never fails to make me smile and he was also one of my favorite actors. Then there's Lee J. Cobb, one of the finest actors ever to draw breath, and I love this clip because I have to say I've never seen this happy, goofy side of Lee. Two of my favorite villains in film history were played by him, Johnny Friendly in On the Waterfront and Juror #3 in 12 Angry Men. Thanks for uploading!

  • Nice!

  • Tap & go-go, when worlds collide.

  • narutofangage...You're VERY lucky. Jackie was ONE TALENTED GUY!! Incredibly funny...

  • I always find this bit hard to buy having seen the dance steps Dino could do when he was with Jerry. Still hilarious.

  • @Veggieman87 Disappointed! How Long have you been a fan? That was his TV Show. Their were His Guest! Dean was a Great Comedian & Dramatic Actor. And I Appreciate any & all Clips that come to YouTube! So ask for others. Someone must have a lot more to put on You Tube for up

  • Dean didn't rehearse. He played golf all week and then showed up on Sunday afternoon and taped the show. That's why he laughs a lot during his show.

  • People my age got used to Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett and didn't know he started his career as a dancer. Those dancers live forever, too ... Ebsen made it to 95 years old.

  • @ttlms And his sister, Vilma, hit 96!

  • I miss watching this stuff!

  • the reason these guys are so good is because they have TALENT!

  • They just don't have actors like these guys anymore. Great clip. Thanks.

  • Cobb? Amazing.

  • This is classic!

  • does anybody know that song has ever been recorded? and if so what's the title?

  • What amazes & disturbs me is that in this era of million dollar budgets, special effects & a cornucopia of cinematic paraphernalia it is still possible for an audience member to leave a theatre disillusioned. This is the simplest of routines & it is still more captivating than much of what we receive today. I do feel that the charming combination of creative ingenuity & youthful spontaneity is lost on too many, but thanks to splendid posts like this it can make a comeback. Thank you kindly:)

  • I couldn't agree with you more. Back in the day a real entertainer did not need a bunch of special effects and glitz to dazzle an audience. Put 'em in front of a microphone, give 'em a great song to sing and back 'em up with a good band were the only ingredients needed for a real entertainer.

  • @bobbyBollyfan Amen to all you said.

  • Jackie would pretend he was showing slides of his jungle safari. He had a "clicker" to request the next slide (there were no slides-just him adding narrative). But he needed a guide...

    (click)

    "Here I am--at the agency: Guido's Get-a-Guide."

    (click)

    And, here's Guido."

I said to him: "Guido--I need a guide. You got a guide I can get?" He said, "Sure."

    (click)

  • Here we are in the jungle with natives helping Guido. (click) Here is some quicksand--with the natives next to it. (click) And here are the natives from the waist up. (click) Here you see some spears, hats... (click) Here's Guido rushing to the natives. (click) And here's Guido from the waist up. (click) There's Guido's hat...
  • And here's the Rescue squad with lots of ropes and hats and things....

    (click)

And here's a lot of hats, and ropes and things...

  • Jackie Vernon was my grandfather. His wife, my grandmother was Hazel Vernon. I am 13 and never got to meet him, and my mom, Tracey, was one of his three children. I never knew he could dance..

  • Your grandfather was awesome as the voice of Frosty the Snowman. :)

  • complimenti veramente it's video beautiful

  • @narutofangage Mr. Vernon is one of my comic heros. His classic slide show routine still stands the test of time. Mr. Vernon and I once shared the greenroom on a TV show.

  • @narutofangage Are you serious?!

  • @narutofangage Christmas is not Christmas for me without hearing your grandfather's voice as Frosty. After seeing clips like this, I realize he was a very talented man.

  • @narutofangage How wonderful for you! I loved watching Jackie Veron's routine as a kid growing up and seeing him on TV. He was a great comedian and I now like to see him on youtube when opportunities like this video arise.

He had his great slide show routine which always cracked me up.

  • Anyone knows when was this?

  • Great! Wish someone would put up some of the comedy of Jackie Vernon. He was a favorite.

  • A favorite of mine, too! Jackie Vernon, I mean. He was so funny on Dean's show, and Merv Griffin. He said his first stage name was Nosmo King. (He found the name on a sign.) He said he went to see a fistfight and it broke out into a hockey game. He died young, and I miss him.

  • Very cool. I think they are all gone now, now that Charles is dead. they are missed.
