@drake0074 there were rumors that Mako was making one a few years ago, but I don't think it has been released or if it was even true. Have you tried Aimpoint pivot magnifiers..a little pricey for some but good reviews, but everyone is different when it comes to setup
Have you had any issues with the magnifier flipping back to its upward position? For instance if you were running with your rifle, holding it sideways (for whatever reason), or making sharp movements.

@NoahHoe no prob, you'll like it. You may have to get a cantilever style mount if u want to make room for a rear iron site. U can see what i mean in my SHTF vid if interested
The EOTech is great but the clarity in my right eye is not the greatest so the dot is a bit fussy and when it's directly on my target it disappears from my vision if I have both eyes open. Disappointing for me, but if you have perfect 20/20 vision in both eyes and you're right eye dominate then buy one.
@Yusuf1187 yeah it's crazy how they work compared to other red dots. Same projection but completely different internals. Its amazing how they get the dot to look like its actually on the target rather then on the glass. My eyes suck so it definitely helps!:) Also, i've never had a site/scope to remain on zero no matter how long i've had it or beat it up. I trust it 100%
@MrAzcabowabo Different situations cause for different setups, especially in war. In Afghanistan we would always get shot at more than 2-300 meters away, a lot easier to identify and engage a target with a magnified optic.

@JohnCG27 nope, its a magnifier demo not rear site demo. The mount the magnifier came with allowd no room. Since the vid, the mount was replaced with a cantilever style mount to make room for a rear site, along with a whole new rifle;)

@Badboyzdawg i doubt you could magnify a red dot site that's already magnified 4x. I'd think it could work on other trijicon or aimpoint sites as long as you get a mount the proper height...
@aroccop - I just got the same setup, RRA Tactical Operator 2 with Dominator EO tech rear Iron Sight. It allows your to "co-witness" your EO tech and Irons at the same time for improved accuracy. Hope this helps and hope you enjoy the setup!
Beware, when MW3 comes out this video will be full of CoDments. There is an Eotech with G23 magnifier in the game. Also, how waterproof and shock proof are the Eotechs? I hunt with my father (I am only 14 so cannot legally buy an Eotech, once I am 18 I might buy one) and hunt in a treestand where it is frequently flooded.

@garrettdutton10 if you look around you can get the quick detach mount with the magnifier for no extra charge. It's pretty sturdy as the mount is tightly secured while being able to remove the magnifier on and off. I recommend it if you don't mind not having a rear iron site. I swapped mine with a cantilever style to make room. thx
@MrAzcabowabo i just ordered a primary arms magnifier 7x because i read good reviews and they have a Flip to side mount which i think will be beneficial for my set up. thanks for the sweet vid! made me want one even more. by the way, you should look into getting a FAL like me from DS Arms. they're totally made in the U.S.!
@garrettdutton10 I like the FAL's alot. I've put guns on hold for right now but if I do build something it'll be in 308 long range set up. Not sure what platform to use yet. Good call on the flip to side. I've heard mixed reviews but i say go for it!
@MrAzcabowabo I will say that FALs are sexy as hell but unfortunately you have to spend extra money on a nice barrel in order to make them accurate for any shooting beyond 100 yards

BTW: ive got my set up, and it accurately shoots anywhere from 25yrds to 100+ easily. i have yet to test it at longer ranges! It is being painted right now but when i get her back ill post a vid!

I really want one of these because of the money you save. But I've heard multiple bad reviews saying it's really just for airsoft and that the recoil from even just a .223 shattered the internal lenses. Someone else said that after 100 rounds, the view became all fuzzy. Has anyone had or heard of these problems?

@cmason87 i have no probs with eotech or aimpoint sites. I just wouldnt take a magnifier to combat. I feel simplicity is key in a battle situation. Not only can weight be an added issue, but there's a reason these red dot sites are 0 magnification. It can be more shit to get in the way, they're fragile especially in a combat situation, and not really needed. Even with the extra magnification, i feel the negatives out weigh the positives..
@TheJmac1983 no windage or elevation adjustments. You'd adjust the site itself for that. Bang for the buck it's definitely worth it. I wouldnt make a vid if I didn't think so. Thx
@ammosmith i think the clarity is outstanding for the price. The vid actually doesnt help. Just be sure to have a low profile rear site if you run a BUS for clearance, so you can bring back the magnifier for eye relief
@ammosmith Get a cantilever mount to fit the BUS underneath. If youre going to be using your magn all the time then go with a high end one like La Roux or Daniel Def. If it's going to be on and off your gun for siting in or huntin purp only, then just get a desc budget mount. Just be sure it has that "cantilever slant" in it so you can bring it back far enough for your eye relief and have the ability to have a back up site just incase. pm me w/an email, i'll get u pics of how u should do it.
@runngun4483 i believe at that time it was just a utg 150 lumen light usually used on pistols but didnt want anything big and heavy. It was quite bright and worked well. I have a totally different setup and m4 now but i'm guessing that's what I had at the time
the vid doesnt do justice. There's over 20 brightness settings. I had mine set at around the middle if not higher for vid reasons. You can actually dim it so much, all you can see is a dim but clear center dot, which is about as precise as thin crosshairs on a hunting scope. Golf balls at 200 yards, tennis balls at 300. I'm a par shooter. It out shoots me with this optic fine. For an assault/defensive weapon I wouldn't want anything else.. Hunting not so much, just for more magnification purp's
I was thinking about buying one. But i want to shoot and I shoot sub moas. The Eotech has a 1 moa center dot. Not go enough. When i can do clover leafs which are about a 1/4" moa. The dot would not be precise enough. Not to mention once you pass 100 yards. I think it is great for quick aim under 100 yards but that is it.
@swtcav99 yeah you havent heard of em? Its a "magnifier" demo, not a BUS vid. As you can see the mount doesn't allow room for a rear site and maintain good eye relief. I've since purchased a cantilever magnifier mount to make room for back ups on a new YHM AR seen on my channel
really think it depends what you use it for. Mine's held up thru over 1000 "gently used" rounds. I havent burried it in mud or shot at with a 9mm to test it's durability. I use it for sighting and 2-400yd shots. Its clear and magnifys. I havent once said I wish to go with something else. I feel like I made a great buy and I wouldn't say it if I didn't think so;) Even if i found something astonishingly clearer I wouldnt pay anywhere close to 500 on it. Its a mag, not a site. You'll like the Mako
Would you say its a decent quality magnifier? Been looking for one but not going to spend 500 on something like that, just get a actually scope at that point. Ive seen a few budget ones, Mako, Leapers UTG ( I know there mainly airsoft but some of there stuff is excellent) Burris etc.
@socom16762mm as long as it's a 30mm you should be good. Keep in mind, you must mount the mako in the middle of the magnifier unlike most eotechs and aimpoints where you mount in the front, so in order to get descent eye relief you have to mount the mako as far back on your receiver as possible, although this will cause probs if you want to run rear back up iron sites. If you look at my camera video it shows I use a cantilever mount now, this made it poss to mount rear irons under the magnifier
@ahavyah I cant remember, it was a while ago but I believe i lazered it at 100 yards when I was sighting it in. I've never compared it to an eotech or aimpoint but it looks very clear to me and you get a bit more magnification. I've made some ridiculous purchases but i'm happy with that one

I looked all over youtube for a descent magnifier vid because I wanted to see what the magnification looked like and if the reticle blew up too big. @garrettdutton10 That's not true. A decent Imbel or Steyr barrel is 2-2.5 moa capable. Plenty accurate for a battle rifle.

I really want one of these because of the money you save. But I've heard multiple bad reviews saying it's really just for airsoft and that the recoil from even just a .223 shattered the internal lenses. Someone else said that after 100 rounds, the view became all fuzzy. Has anyone had or heard of these problems?

@cmason87 i have no probs with eotech or aimpoint sites. I just wouldnt take a magnifier to combat. I feel simplicity is key in a battle situation. Not only can weight be an added issue, but there's a reason these red dot sites are 0 magnification. It can be more shit to get in the way, they're fragile especially in a combat situation, and not really needed. Even with the extra magnification, i feel the negatives out weigh the positives..

What is the optical clarity like? I just bought a EOTecc EXP-4 and the EOTech magnifiers are waaaaay expensive. Not that the sight isn't but damn...

@ammosmith i think the clarity is outstanding for the price. The vid actually doesnt help. Just be sure to have a low profile rear site if you run a BUS for clearance, so you can bring back the magnifier for eye relief

@ammosmith Get a cantilever mount to fit the BUS underneath. If youre going to be using your magn all the time then go with a high end one like La Roux or Daniel Def. If it's going to be on and off your gun for siting in or huntin purp only, then just get a desc budget mount. Just be sure it has that "cantilever slant" in it so you can bring it back far enough for your eye relief and have the ability to have a back up site just incase. pm me w/an email, i'll get u pics of how u should do it.

@runngun4483 i believe at that time it was just a utg 150 lumen light usually used on pistols but didnt want anything big and heavy. It was quite bright and worked well. I have a totally different setup and m4 now but i'm guessing that's what I had at the time

the vid doesnt do justice. There's over 20 brightness settings. I had mine set at around the middle if not higher for vid reasons. You can actually dim it so much, all you can see is a dim but clear center dot, which is about as precise as thin crosshairs on a hunting scope. Golf balls at 200 yards, tennis balls at 300. I'm a par shooter. It out shoots me with this optic fine. For an assault/defensive weapon I wouldn't want anything else.. Hunting not so much, just for more magnification purp's

I was thinking about buying one. But i want to shoot and I shoot sub moas. The Eotech has a 1 moa center dot. Not go enough. When i can do clover leafs which are about a 1/4" moa. The dot would not be precise enough. Not to mention once you pass 100 yards. I think it is great for quick aim under 100 yards but that is it.

@swtcav99 yeah you havent heard of em? Its a "magnifier" demo, not a BUS vid. As you can see the mount doesn't allow room for a rear site and maintain good eye relief. I've since purchased a cantilever magnifier mount to make room for back ups on a new YHM AR seen on my channel

really think it depends what you use it for. Mine's held up thru over 1000 "gently used" rounds. I havent burried it in mud or shot at with a 9mm to test it's durability. I use it for sighting and 2-400yd shots. Its clear and magnifys. I havent once said I wish to go with something else. I feel like I made a great buy and I wouldn't say it if I didn't think so;) Even if i found something astonishingly clearer I wouldnt pay anywhere close to 500 on it. Its a mag, not a site. You'll like the Mako

Would you say its a decent quality magnifier? Been looking for one but not going to spend 500 on something like that, just get a actually scope at that point. Ive seen a few budget ones, Mako, Leapers UTG ( I know there mainly airsoft but some of there stuff is excellent) Burris etc.

@socom16762mm as long as it's a 30mm you should be good. Keep in mind, you must mount the mako in the middle of the magnifier unlike most eotechs and aimpoints where you mount in the front, so in order to get descent eye relief you have to mount the mako as far back on your receiver as possible, although this will cause probs if you want to run rear back up iron sites. If you look at my camera video it shows I use a cantilever mount now, this made it poss to mount rear irons under the magnifier

@ahavyah I cant remember, it was a while ago but I believe i lazered it at 100 yards when I was sighting it in. I've never compared it to an eotech or aimpoint but it looks very clear to me and you get a bit more magnification. I've made some ridiculous purchases but i'm happy with that one

Thanks for actually holding the camera up behind the optics. One more useless video of some nerd finger diddling his optics and no shot of the reticule at a distant target would have driven me nuts!....I will buy one of these even though it's a cheapy just cause I like the way yours looks in the video. I looked all over youtube for a descent magnifier vid because I wanted to see what the magnification looked like and if the reticle blew up too big. So basically after i guinea pigged it, i thought i'd save someone from the guessing game and "try" to make a legit vid. Glad it helped!
