running in an 08 TL Type S i went side by side with two separate 3.5 maximas. both stock i have the AT and not using the paddles (which i doubt makes much difference) the two cars are dead even from 70 to 130...i mean freakishly dead even. they surpised me, but i guess thats why nissan wants nearly 40K for a maxima now. would like to see from a redlight dig but havent had the oportunity yet.

I think you should remove this video, it's embarrassing. I have the 6spd version, and it's much much quicker than that. I understand that yours is auto, but still.. your 60-100 should take half the time. Time for a checkup I think.

i have a 2008 Acura TL Type S, the throttle is very sensitive and it really takes off! 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds! best fwd sports sedan, unfortunately no longer in production, wish Acura could come back with it. had the 2002 Acura TL Type S as well, but this new one is much better. it's a beast!

on the other hand if u put the Stillen Intake ans Stillen exhaust on the Maxima u will have around 311HP maybe 315HP depends on how u tune it up dont forget tunning it is ot optional it's required after those mods... the type s can be equipped with it's famous ATLP exhaust and the AEM CAI, that will boost it to around 305 maybe 310hp... it all depends on you how u want your car to be.. after these mods I am 100% sure the Maxima will win b cuz when u tune a maxima it shows u how it can perform!=)

idk about the 10 Maxima but i can tell u that I have an 04 TL and from the start it goes much faster than my new 2010 Maxima but after like 50 the Maxima takes over hard body! the car just doesn't have any brakes it just flies! to me Acura is absolutly better and more convinient + the interior is 3x better lol but if u were asking me TL type S or SP Maxima I take the TL.. y? b cuz its better quality better looks and I am sure the type s will hand it to the Maxima due to it's CVT tranny...

How where you running 8 seconds? That's 4cyl accord time.

The VSA was off then I also tried with it on.

As for the Sport mode..... I did not see that unless that is the VSA button.

I'm going to take the car for a cruise again before the end of the week.

The TL has a much better engine if you look at the numbers. The two cars weigh the same and the maxima has 4 more hp. The TL has more power under the curve than the Maxima. I have test driven both, and I will say the Maxima feels explosive, however I feel that it feels explosive because its powerband kicks on at a higher rpm. The acceleration is not smooth at any given rpm like the TL.

@fickel88 I have 05 TL with 93 000 km on it and in m.o. it has a great acceleration compared to the Maxima. My cuz has a 2006 Maxima and we are very close at highway speeds its pretty much who jumps first. But my TL always creeps ahead very slowly..I dont know maybe i cant drive but the TL is a great car and I love the Maxima too. Always owned an Acura and always will.

Because the Nissan has a 3.5 Liter engine that is in the Infinity G35, 350Z and also the Altima and Maxima.

It's a very powerful and reliable engine.

The Acura is a nice car but is a over priced because Honda knows that die hard fans will buy them no matter what the price or quality is.

I drive a 2004 Accord V6 and just drove a 2009 and the quality is my opinion has gone down hill " more plastic and cheaper build " but it's a Honda.

Drive a 2010 Maxima and you'll see for yourself.
