  • <3 this!

  • THAT BABY GOAT IS FREAKIN CUTE!!!!!!! I like your stretches you do beforehand :)

  • @tommahilly thanks. she was special..and yes stretching is very important, I do it before I ride too.

  • @SassyMustang1980

    tnx for advice

  • the only thing that worrys me is that my hors would do that when he is nervus or something like that or on competitions. or when he wants me to get off or somethin like that

sorry for my english if the words are not speled corectli

  • @PUHEK1 if trained right they will only do it with the signal you train them too. Sassy has always reared, but because she is trained too now. she won't do it without the signal. If your horse is the nervous type, then I would advise doing some de-spooking and calming training. first.

  • nice goats lol

  • @pokieluvsu101 I love goats, they are so much fun!!! I Miss them loads.

  • @SassyMustang1980 Umm, i strongly disagree with your concept of "Parelli works good for horses that are very relaxed and tamed down..", i have seen more than 20 horses with my own eyes who had behavioural issues and were agressive and my own horse, a previously, running off, kicking, rearing and bucking horse. I wouldn't describe him as relaxed and tamed at all. I should add other than my personal experience, Parelli is generally for ANY horse. Please, don't distribute false information.

  • @natureismyself I've tried Parelli with my horse who used to be aggressive and it made her worse. Pat told me himself that she should be put down because of her aggression. He is full of shit, and I will be honest I don't like the guy, Yes parelli works from SOME horses, but not ALL, I've trained horses that came to me after going through Parelli clinics and they were SEVERALLY screwed up!!! So before stating maybe ask first, I know what I've seen after such training, Again works for some.

  • Amazing Video!! Beautiful Horse! Im a first time horse owner and I've had my gelding for a year and some months now, I didnt even know how to teach him to rear but I really wanted too, mabye 5-6 months ago I used common sense methods, pressure and released, and gave a cue! Now he rears on the ground and with me on him! I dont know how I did it!

  • -stroke goat-

-casually push goat away with foot-

    amused me greatly :')

  • ummm.. my horse is extremely ..i guess smart and she is a competitive 7 year old slightly green sport pony. She will try ti do her paw trick when i take her boots off and such will she rear when i am asking something different?

  • im only watching the lil goat <3

  • The only thing that freaks me out & stops me from doing this is my fear that my horse would get hurt. I could live with ME getting hurt, but no way i could live with her getting hurt. Especially not when it's my fault.

If this wasn't the case, i'd love to try your way, it's seems to be working really well and your horse looks happy :)

btw, that goat. IT'S SO CUTEEE! gosh! :'D

  • @Thianca Thats VERY respectful think to say, makes you a real horse person. I will be making a video of rearing from the ground in a few days, its been really cold. But yes. you've earned huge KUDO points from me. ;)

  • @Thianca ^^^^^^^ true horse lover <3

  • "For you humane freaks..." lol I love your video :)

  • THAT GOAT IS SOO ADORABLE!!

  • OMG ADORABLE GOAT!

  • hahahah look at the goat

  • @SassyMustang1980 i respect your opinian but disagree strongly with you and i think you should be wearing a helment. :/

  • @No1HorseLuvrX Yes I know.. normally I'm always wearing my helmet. had a bla moment in this video..LOL

  • Do u ride parelli? I do x

  • @No1HorseLuvrX Um.. NO.. I dislike Parelli.. I do the Shull Method..LOL I have my own methods for training and they work for problem horses and aggressive horses. Parelli works good for horses that are very relaxed and tamed down..

  • your crazy doing it bareback!(:

  • @ashleyxpinano LOL safer then in a saddle really, no stirrups to get stuck on .. plus gives you wicked leg muscles ;p

  • Can you explain to me how to do for the frist time because your horse is already trained for this ???

  • @PowerTradermylove start slow by asking the horse to go forward by pulling slightly back in a stronger half halt, its going to take some destroying to retrain, so your teaching your head to toss its head first.. and with more pushing forward while pulling back you are teaching your horse to raise its shoulders. it may take a few weeks for them to get the concept.

  • Not impressed, the horse didn't give her nose when the rider stopped with her hands down and not up. and for a "trick horse" rearing "like a beginner" i am not impressed with the results.

  • @Turnershot not suppose to impress anyone its a video on training, and I think my horse did good. for a horse that was once a wild mustang.. really..

  • <3 the goat inthis video!

  • y not?

  • can u put a vid up on how to flex?

  • @punchjumper3744 I will make one this week..

  • Nice CA halter and lead. I like it! And that was a really good point about how the rear should be a foreard movement and not a backwards one. :)

  • @PaintedPalomino95 Thanks!! yes best halter ever!!! i have to buy a new one. my mare decided to chew on a part of it..so its slowly falling a part, and yes rearing should always be a forward motion, saves from flipping over backwards..

  • is it easier to teach a horse to rear with just a halter or a bridle and bit?

  • is it easier to teach a horse to rear with just a halter or a bridle and bit?

  • @penny0895 dont do it anyway.

  • thank u sosososo much this really helped only after 3 days her can rear! vid will hopfully be up soon

  • lol u know alot! i didnt even know half of that i have a feeling this is really going to help thank u!

  • I love how you push the goat away with your foot! hahahaha!!! xD they are adorable <3

  • so wat if my horse just walks forword and dosnt respond to the reins being up. how do u start a horse to rear without riding it. ?

  • @carlyloveshorses100 Awe great! Happy to help! =)

  • @carlyloveshorses100 U should prob. still consult ur vet, as this trick can b really damaging, especially for an unbalanced horse. I would also recommend researching the effects of aging on a senior horses body before making a decision. Personally, w/a horse that age, I would work on stretching(which can be very beneficial) or picking things up..clicker training(CT) can even allow them to make up there own tricks. There r lots of how 2 vids on you tube 4 CT & the benefits r wonderful. C=

  • @4Champ2and0 I agree with 4Champ here.. rearing takes A LOT of muscle power and if she doesn't have it you can really do damage to her back and even hocks. I would definitely encourage more strengthening and stretching here..

  • @carlyloveshorses100 U might could try clicker training. It is a fun & pleasant experience for both horse and rider and you can teach many MANY tricks from the ground or mounted w/it. :)

  • @4Champ2and0 clicker is a great tool.. but its not for every horse, but yes if someone has a smart horse that can pick up on clicker go for it.. I tried it with my mare, and she got aggressive because she wanted the treats..LOL shes' a pig.. Clicker isn't a good thing for dominate or AGGRESSIVE horses!!!.. but for your normal laid back, friendly equine its great!!

  • @SassyMustang1980 Thnx 4 the reply! :) However, I disagree. I think if u have an aggressive horse, it can still be a great tool. Obviously this isn't the FIRST trick to teach w/this method, but it can still be great 4 horses who are pushy around food or r aggressive about being handled. My pony was both, but now he knows how to wait patiently for me to fumble my treat bag for his 'cookie' & allows me to touch him anywhere I please. Best prt 4 me was I didn't have to "force" or dominate him. :)

  • What do you think is going to happen if I try to teach this to my extremely hyper horse? He's not THAT young but he's really hyper...I wouldn't even be able to just sit on him without him moving...even if I'll stop him he'll try to move or go somewhere straight away.

Do you think it's impossible to teach a horse like that to rear (And I mean without getting killed)?

  • @HorseShow5 i would teach him some patience before teaching him any kind of trick. I wouldn't even attempt it with a horse that doesn't know how to stand still and not walking off. so NO don't do it until the horse knows how to stand still.

  • you spent more time doing the intro than actually teaqching us what to do ..

  • @huntersatheart thats why its a 2 parter.. ;) I want to make sure I cover all the risks and explain what the horse needs to be able to do , and etc before the whole rearing thing.. it be like if you didn't know math and your teacher gives you an equation and says solve it without any background.. wouldn't make sense.. same concept here..

  • ur goat is sooo cute beauitful horse aswell

  • Certainly seeing some techniques there ^^

  • Parelli?

  • hello! my friend and I r trying to teach her mustang how to rear! She is very flexible and trusts us. Her hindquarters are very muscular from jumping. When we try what u said she only backs up really quick. please tell us what we r doing wrong.

  • im 13 and i have a 5yr old mare Kate, shes very smart. i looked up some videos on utube on natural horseman ship and parelli. i started with getting her respect by getting her hindquarters away from me then some lunging at walk, trot, and canter. she was great and did everything perfectly like a pro! the next two days i spent a small amount of time teaching her how to bow. after 2days she bows on command!

  • naaww! the rearing pics are cute! adorable horse!

  • You gotta love that little Goat! :D

  • its helmet and u should wear one too.

  • @hyperfocus2011 I normally always wear my helmet, so please if you feel the need to correct me.. maybe read my intro!! nuff said..

happy trails and stay safe :)

  • Your goat is going to be crushed in a second by a large horse.

  • o ok so i am havin second thoughts cause u said i can die lol

    i know its true

YOUR BABY GOAT IS SO CUTE OMG

will this encourage my horse to do it when i am rididng her when i dont want her to

  • @horseriderponylover Normally no..if you make your signals really clear to her then she will know when you ask for it and when not.. with sassy the signal is just slightly different then asking her to side-pass so if I'm not careful I ask her to rear by mistake..LOL.. Im in the process of changing the signal some.. not good having your horse rear in a dressage test when your trying to sidepass..LOL

  • o ok so i am havin second thoughts cause u said i can die lol

    i know its true

YOUR BABY GOAT IS SO CUTE OMG

  • o ok so i am havin second thoughts cause u said i can die lol

    i know its true

  • haha i love the goats

  • i wish my wife was as pretty as you on a horse your awesom

  • hi i tryed this with my horse and she didnt understand she thought i was telling her to walk do u have any tips

  • OMG..THE GOAT..I LOVE THE GOAT.

  • @Mrs4hooves haahahahhaa :P

  • omg the goat is soo sweet lol just push it away slowly :D

  • Serously.

  • Can I have a mini goat that thinks it's a cat?

  • @Mrs4hooves LOL.. I didn't notice I said that until I was totally done with the video.. it was one of those long days..LOL..

  • i love ur goat. haha

  • whats the chance of the horse falling back and crushing you? :o

  • GOAT!!!

  • hahahaha poor goat ur horse pushed her with his legs!! :P

  • lol in the description it says "serious fatal injury". Is that opposed to "minor fatal injury? surely dying is dying?

  • @thecoolestbeanintown I don't know is it serious to getting hit by a car vs a bike which is minor, Yes. its serious getting crushed by your horse vs a minor kick. Think about it.

  • @SassyMustang1980 see what you mean. my bad :) I absolutely LOVE your horse by the way! Also, how do you stay on rearing bare back? I always fall off even with a saddle :S

  • @thecoolestbeanintown I don't really know..LOL.. I only slide off if she spins when she rears.. but normally if you have good leg muscles you can stay on fairly easy, but if you use like any kind of grooming spray that slicks them down, you will slide off.. best to have them slightly dusty..

  • wait do you have to use a rope halter or like what is the easiest, rope halter of bridle?!?!

  • @kokacolarox I recommend using a rope halter for all new tricks, this way you know if you have your horses respect vs forcing them with a bit in the mouth where they only do it to get away from the pain. So halter first, and when the horse can do it with the halter without problems then you can move into a bridle because then your horse knows the cues from your legs and not the pull on the reins..

  • What's the song at the start called

  • @Chicksterfull its " One night stand" by Mis-teeq

  • Umm.. there was a bug on the camera..

  • When I ask my horse to back up, she thros her head up so high that if im even in slight 2point, shell smack me in the face. si this a good or bad thing to help train her to rear?

  • @showhorse37 depends what are you using a bit or a rope halter?

  • oh goodness, why would someone try to blame you if they sustained an injury lol

  • @benttreemegan you would be surprised, what people blame me for.. my favorite ( my horse bite me because she didn't like it when i was lunging her.. and I did what you said its your fault! )..LOL yep.. people blame anyone for anything.

  • @diamondcrazy1 teach them to rear on command !! not when they want.. how about you waste your time on someone elses account.. k.. no one wants a teenagers opinion on matters she doesn't know about..

  • What? I missed that. Watching the goats.

  • that goat is cute

  • this...has taught me nothing at all. she never actually told you anything ¬.¬

  • cute goat!

  • You make it sound like you shouldn't use a bit, honestly if your teaching your horse a new trick they're likely to get flusterated and taking off halters aren't ment for training on horseback, now i understand not using a correctional bit but at least an o ring would give u some what of control without being to harsh on your horse

  • @missNNR2010 I recommend bitless because this way you don't accidentally harm your horse.. all my horses I train are thought everything bitless first.. that includes side-passing, backing, turn on the forehand and hind-quarters.. Passage everything.. mainly because they can concentrate on what your asking vs a device in there mouth..but anyone can use a bit if they want.. I just recommend bitless.. from years of experiance. ;)

  • @missNNR2010 There's only 1 thing you can't do bitless that you can do with a bit and that's hurt the horses mouth.

  • @Horsingabout1 and that is very true, Bitless is the best method in teaching a horse something new.. my horses get more confused learning new things with a bit vrs without.. riding after all is body language, not just all hands.

  • Lol!! I love the goats XD Too cute!! I'll have to try this with my horse :)

  • I know it's just that wasn't me, it was my cousin and she is very inpatient, sorry. I think your totally right as well and cute horse. Safety first.

  • OMG......IS THAT A BUNNY!!.........OMFG A BUUUUUUUUUUNNNNYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFL, OMG, WTF, LOL, ROFLCOPTER, ROFLCRAFT, LOLCITY, WTFCLOUDs, AFK47s, LMAOplane, SS AFK, TTYLnukes, Leet Trains, LOLBILIES, LMFAO TRAIN, ROOFLETRAIN, STREAMLOLLER, LOLS-ROYCE, LOLLERCOASTER, LOLLERCAUST, LOLYMPICS, LOLLERSKATES, ROFLAMETHROWER, ROFL3000, LOLCANO

  • it takes ages for you to just rear and just tell people how to do it do i didnt watch the whole thing.

  • @allinsarz its a teaching video, there for it is more in depth.. if you rush anything you can cause yourself and your horse harm or even kill yourself.. takes time to teach a horse to do it right.. common sense .. safety first..

  • i like the little goat! <3

  • Awe the baby goat was sooo cute! Love the video... My mare is lazy and won't go up ha ha... We are going to work on laying down first!

  • GOAT ;D! aww he was probably like MOMMY D; lol.

  • GOAT ;D!

  • haha the goats "mahhhh" they wanna learn too ^-^ I am teaching my friesian to rear. she is amazing!! She totally towers over me when she does. Its awesome! The first time i was working with her i wore a helmet and pillows (:

  • cool are those goats walkin around out there haha☺

  • Hey i was wondering if you could help me, My horse is a VERY well behaved horse, and she was backing up when i ask her to do what you done, but she just would not rear? got any suggestions? and ive been trying for a few days now :(

  • @XOtinyz4lifeOX make her move forward and ask, if she backs up kick her to make her go forward. are you using a bit, or a halter.. ?

  • @SassyMustang1980

Yeah, i was making her move foward, i toke my laptop out with me and was watching your video at the same time at trying, so i was doing exacally what you were doing. And i'm using a halter :)

  • @XOtinyz4lifeOX hmm.. take your time it could be she is just confused, don't rush her practice like for 10mins when you ride and make sure that you make her flex on both sides and down so she doesn't get stiff..

  • Adorable little goat! I love your horse too she's gorgeous!! :)

  • @GeorginaEa Thanks! XD

  • GAH!!! IM STEALING YOUR GERMAN SHEPHERD!!! HES SO PRETTY!!!

  • @apachespook71 Thanks he is my baby!

  • How would you train her to rear from the ground?

  • @24Eclipse68 there is away to do it, I just can't remember right now.. I"m working on that video.. i just keep drawing a brain fart. But once i get the way again I'll post the details, I used to be able to do it a lot back in the day, just rusty.

  • wow amazing weird.

i wanted to teach my 14 yr old cob, but im scared he wil go to high and go down on his backk i lituraalyy want him to go up a tiny bit ? x

  • omg ! look at the goat .! so cute !

  • i would love to do this but id be scared cos surely theres the risk that i would turn into a habbit :( x

  • @ineedahorse not if trained properly..

  • i havent yet got a horse but once i have the money and time to buy one, once i build trust and bond i will definatly try this out. love the lttle goat and you have a beautiful horse! whats the song at the beginning? thanx ever so much xP

  • do you reckon i could teach a 19yo arabian to rear? or as the saying goes cant teach an old dog new tricks

  • @rotansilversplash no horse is too old to learn a new trick, just make sure your horse has the muscle that he/she needs to do the trick without damaging anything.

  • @SassyMustang1980 i think i wont teach it to him though, he is retired, and in winter he always loses weight no matter how much fattening stuff hard feed i give him, and the reason why his retired is that he did a tendon in one of his front legs, even though he does worse in his paddock galloping, rearing a bucking, i don't want to put to much pressure on it, ill teach him to bow instead, as soon as spring hits and he puts condition back on,

  • LOL random cute baby goat. how adorable. beautiful horse too. love her. and thats a pretty dog to

  • @Animalluver747 thanks XD

  • Is that a baby goat?

  • @jincxz yes that was our Princess, she was around 20 days old in this video.. breed.. she was a mix between an Alpine and La Mancha

  • What breed is your horse?? Its reaaaally nicee

  • @MegaZhadow Shes a Spanish Mustang..

  • @SassyMustang1980 mine's a mustang too, lol

  • im not sure i trust your liability warning especially since you spelled a third of the words wrong and used improper grammar.

  • @Unbridled396 well english is my second language.. and if you do anything with your horse its at your own risk.. liability warning or not.. I'm not taking any responsibility for your actions.. you don't need to be a grammer wiz to be a great horse person.. XD

  • Your goat is a riot....what a good trainer's assitant!!

  • @noelpowers yes she was..

  • Your goat is a riot....good training assistant!!

  • lmao , *humane freaks* ! i couldnt agree more :)

  • i love the goat and ur house is gorgeous:)

  • sorry, Movie, Napoleon Dynamite...

    I was feeling spring, goofy...

  • @pinewood189 okay.. well to be kind don't spam my videos with goof.. I have a low tolerance for that as its rude..

  • ROFL>>>that goat was a riot. Great video!

  • @babyhorsey6 thanks she was special..

  • I Love You horse she is soo pretty

i was wondering is this easy on a horse tht has never done any tricks befor?

  • Comment removed

  • shes beautiful.!!

  • thanks XD

  • is the horse bay or sorrel? i cant really tell in the video becuz of the light but i think shes bay. is she?

  • she is a strawberry bay XD

  • shes beautiful!

  • @alicorenee thanks.

  • aww little goat in the backround!!!

  • that horse is beautiful!

  • thanks XD

  • you welcome

    he/shes so pretty i had to sub...lol

  • LOL... most of my subbers are Sassy fans.. just something about her..LOL

  • I love this video :)

im going to try it with my pony in the next couple of weeks or maybe in the summer :P

i was really trying to listen but your parade of animals kept on distracting me lol especially the little goat :L

Thanks for putting this video on

    xx

  • do you not ike bits or something? just asking because it seems yu dontXD pretty horse

  • what do you mean please explain?? I know enough about bits to stay away from certain types.. that are cruel...LOL XD

  • i mean like tell me where to pressmy feet into to mke gim sdepass and whata t do with the reins . yeah some bits are pretty cruel i use tom thumbs they rock XD and i also use a curb sometimes . but dats it

  • o.. well if your just learning to side pass, its best to go back to a loose ring snaffle. .. tom thumbs are harsh as they have no real release.. they have a bad rep.. you can look it up.. but each his own.. my best friend rides in a tom thumb .. so yeah..LOL.. if you do side passing you have to bend and flex the horse first make sure they can bend through there body, and then its easier to teach them on a fence.. I'll try to make a video once the weather clears up and the snow melts.

  • rlly? i gess i can use my shank snaffle, my orse seemed to like the tomb thumb though ? odd .mabey he just liked the taste it is copper

  • well if your starting any lateral movements . you don't want anything with a shank.. a simple loose ring snaffle, or D-ring snaffle is best. even a Full Cheek Snaffle.. again you don't want anything with a shank.. specially if your horse has never done a side-pass.

  • 2:09 LOL cute goat

  • "show off " cracked me up, great vid
