Toshiba sucks. Their customer service sucks. Buy toshiba if you want to be out several hundred dollars cuz after you buy and customer service gives you a run around, you'll have to buy another computer.
Bought mine in September 30th 2009, now it won't boot at all. Commonly known problem with this model, and Toshiba won't suggest anything that will solve it :-( what a waste of my money, I did luv it while it was working...
Typing with the Toshiba NB205 is actually a bit harder~ since I'm a touch typist.. the keyboard is a bit small but it's still really damn awesome system.. especially as a law student.. it's a life saver
@Rice8Azn I actually don't have much trouble typing with the keyboard, and I'm a touch typist as well. Then again, that's just me. What kills me with the system is the "Fn" key, for sometimes it wouldn't show the Flash cards after pressing the key. But, I have alternatives to that, so I don't have to worry about it that much. Also, the mono speaker needs to be loud all the time.
the only redeeming quality of this netbook is its battery life...i bought this last year and the touch pad is the biggest POS ever!!! it jumps all over the place...does what it wants to do...i hate it...furthermore, the keyboard is so randomly sensitive that i can be typing and the cursor will disappear or erase my attempts to get anything done all together..boy do i regret buying this junk...buyer be warned...
i have this netbook....im on it right now. its awesome! everything about it. some people say the speaker sucks and its not the best but not terrible. i love this netbook!
@Magasaur161 I agree. I have this netbook it's awesome. The battery life helps out a lot. I usually get 8 hours. Also the keyboard is really easy to type on.
Yes I do agree HP does suck. I used to work at a computer store, and I mostly worked on HPs. Their printer quality is acceptable. Among my top brands of laptops, I would choose Toshiba, then Asus.
@tkl0085 "Do some research, toshibas are known for lasting long and being a durable quality product!"
Check amazon to find out what buyers of the Toshiba NB305 or check the Toshiba forum and the many rants about their netbooks, which certain issues (pad) that many suffer from and that Toshiba fails to fix. Durable my xxx....sigh
probably not technically possible yet but im going to wait till they can produce the whole top lid as a screen with no bezel at all, that would look great on a notebook
@Danster82 Toshiba will probably spin off an entire differnet model for the none bezel. But yeah...I have a HP Mini 5102 (review) and it has the same "defect": a monstrous bezel.
I really wish that they showed them in action, like playing a video for a few seconds, just to see how well it performs. [Not the computer performance, just how it performs with video/music.
And what does she mean a "sleep and charge"? I don't know this term.
sweet, now avail with 250GB HD and upgrade to 2MB RAM - bought the new windows 7 starter version and paid the extra 80 bucks to upgrade to 7 home premium. Should get it all next week after the official release. Can't wait!
does it make any noise??? cuz im gonna get a mini for school and i think this is the one i want, i just have to know if it will make noise that will interrupt a quiet class. Thanks!
danvoncar: netbooks do not have cd/dvd drive. you have to buy an external one if you want to use it with your netbook. Netbook is cheap and compact. You get what you pay for.
DVD drive = bigger, heavier , uglier and more expensive. Buy an external if you really need it. But you won't DVD/CD's are drifting away online downloads are the only way now
those bastards make Joana hold the damb thing the entire video! they should seriously invest in a coffee table or laptop stand. is that even safe? someone call the union!
You should check out Google docs. You can type documents and make different types of presentations and it saves them online so you can access them from any computer. I think they also added a thing so you can work offline aswell. I don't use it yet but when I get a netbook I will.
i hope this isnt tooo stupid of a question.. i have a laptop already but its a 17 inch dell studio so its pretty big im off to college and i dont want to be carrying it to my classes so im looking for a tiny version just for typing notes and what not.. aaanywyas the question is can i install microsoft word on it and what not because i heard there is no cd slot to install it

Gorgeous. The PERFECT size. And the battery life alone is enough to make this my choice. The comfortable, easily touch-typeable keyboard would be another. The nice big touchpad cinches it. Wi-fi, Bluetooth, 3 USB ports, 3-in1SD card slot. This is the one.

I totally agree with u man. Right now, theres only 2 netbooks that has the screen size of 12inch, the samsung nc20 and dell mini 12. The nc20 is nice but it doesnt hav a lot of competition. Companies should pay more attention to the 12inch range
In the dell web site the mini 12 in basic specification is very simple, I dont like for that but is a nice netbook for the size of screen, Agree with you about tht 12' netbook is a little market.

the only bad thing is the speakers my battery isnt wobbly.
It doesnt lok cheap in my opinion
250hdd 2 years ago
I got mine. First impressions:
- The sound is not very loud
- The battery is a bit wobbly.
- The silver paint looks cheap
- The keyboard types less comfortable than the one on my EEE pc 901.
- The install time is long.
- There is no sleeve, just like the EEE 1005HAl. I don't like this.
This is really a step in the wrong direction in my eyes. They didn't make this netbook for mobile use.
