My piano teacher knew Richard Tauber & Marlene Dietrich! He said Tauber was a known womaniser & Dietrich cudnt sing and was so full of herself! I loved them both- Tauber as a beautiful singer of beautiful songs which I played as 78's on my parents 'radiogram' , a Blaubunk' when I was 8 or 9 in 1962! Great & happy memories!
Diana era una hermosa mujer. Basta ver su imagen de perfil en este extraordinario video que compartimos. Y a una mujer así, ¿ quién ´podría no compartir los sentimientos expresados por Tauber y envidiar su suerte de tenerla junto a sí?
I would describe her as a pretty tough cookie; and she never felt sorry for herself. She got on with things. She was also a very brave woman in the War, and was duly decorated by the Poles for her sterling work.
I'm sure she really loved Richard [all women seem to have done], but also found him infuriating. In the books she shows both sides of her feelings well.

Observen el gesto de los labios de Diana (0.28 a 030). ¡Merece todo el afecto que canta Tauber ...y más!!

Filmed on June 20, 1936, the day of his wedding to Diana Napier [nee Molly Ellis, 31.1.1905 - 12.3.1982] at Marylebone Register Office in London.

Interestingly, Diana shared a birthday with Franz Schubert, memorably portrayed by Richard on stage and screen.

How could you describe Diana's personality ?
... and her feelings for Tauber ?
Her books are ambiguous ...
