The Factory's only other single, "Try a Little Sunshine," was written for them by John Pantry, and issued in late 1969. It sounded a little like a mating of the Who and the Moody Blues, with its crunching guitar chords and catchy, wistful vocal harmonies. heard by few and the group disbanded shortly afterward. From All Music
The Factory recorded two singles in the late 1960s-that combined psychedelia with power pop harmonies. Their first single, "Path Through the Forest," was a respectable piece of hard psychedelia with commendably creative guitar and vocal distortion, came out in late 1968.
Path Through The Forest - The Factory [England] - 1968 - "Was a RESPECTABLE piece of hard psychedelia with commendably creative guitar and vocal distortion." - Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts From The British Empire And Beyond, Vol. 3-2001. NOTE: The Factory recorded two psychedelic singles in the UK in the late 1960s--unnoticed at the time, now fetching more than a hundred pounds among collectors--that combined psychedelia with power pop harmonies.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
First time that I've heard this. I've collected a lot, and listened to a lot of psych, but am still at a loss to understand why so much of it was released in mono, rather than stereo. There certainly was the capability at the time, and if any music sounds best in stereo, it's psychedelic music. IMHO. Any ideas?
@shockmastershocksu Well, to some, mono is superior to stereo, but for me, in the case of psychedelic music, I like to hear all the amazing tricks and effects that usually accompany psych pieces. I should mention that I am a frequent headphone user, as well. No slight intended to the particular piece of music here, just a general observation.
@HyaPowa the factory weren't a huge band, they never recorded a full album just singles and some demos. That might be why there's only mono mixes, just a guess.
wow! extended version!! Even better with the intro n outro!!! This one was a John Peel favourite. Ultra rare on 7"..and I've got it!! ha!! (but it's a re-press.. bugger)
really looking forward to playing this at "run to the scrum 3"....see if i can get them skinheads dancing to something other than northern soul and madness...
wow...just tell please how much releases they had..i just found one record with 6 tracks ..but this tune wasnt on it..please tell me all you know about their releases and something about the band..you would make my day..im totally in love with this band..thank you!!
Wow. Cool song & beautifully edited psychedelia. An epilepsy warning might be warranted...
Love the use of the Patrick Stewart .gif from Cyriak, just quick & distorted enough that people won't shout "Captain Picard" while trippin' out to the effects.
This is so dope, it's like a bad boy smokin on a stinky fatty blunt. This has that x-factor, and is real mysterious, but I love it, and think it has to be one of the best songs I've ever heard!
This is great, but its a different version of the song from the one i have.More echoes and effects especially at the start and end.Where do i find this version?
well the version i have is on a compilation called "sugarlumps" and its the only one i can find. Can someone help and tell us where we can find this version?
This tune definitely has got that Sixties roller coaster ride in all it's GLORY. Ride on rainbows, dance on moonbeams, you know what I mean. Gonna play it one mo' time!
Why can I see girl's go-go dancing on tables when I hear this ,or more importantly, where can I see girls go-go dancing on tables while I listen to this!...Time for my medication.
You've got to slow down now,Before you grow cold.......

@HyaPowa sounds better in stereo? Mono sounds punchier for 60s stuff IMO
