He probably is the kind of child who fights sleep, and refuses to lay down without a fuss. So what can a parent do, but wait till nature takes over and forces the child to sleep. If you notice, it was the head that was the focal point in all the movements, once it lost the center of gravity, it was all over:) I doubt if that bump really hurt him, more like startled the child more than anything.
