The stealthy gameplay areas are a nice break from the head on combat. Wonderful looking environment; free roaming, large, earthy, fun to explore. Can't swim, but you can climb and jump. Well worth checking out if you are in the mood for a sword play action game on PS3. Biggest downer is the sound. Sparse music and sound effects.

WHile this game IS linear, it's much less so then God of War games. Sure from a technical standpoint God of War may ahve superior combat, but I found GoW combat to be silly and for kids to think they are touigh where as the combat in this game is just brutal, if not slightly simple. 8.5/10
@IMRavnos i would never argue gow or viking to be great games. but gow i think had a better story, graphics and frame rate. whilst i loved the huge battles in viking i couldn't help but notice bad fram rates that had time had the potential of ruining the experience. it comes down to taste, whilst i think gow and viking are almost equal on a level of game play albeit less repetition in gow, i think the themes and concept are where these two games are decided upon

The moves were decent imo, cause they all served different purposes, and some were better, and more useful. Story wise not that great, but it worth the money and time.

I just finished reading the first Eragon book, and the battle was bad ass in it. So yeah, I'm ready for a game that goes brave heart style, long battles, and tons and tons of bad guys to kill at once. Much better game if you're after a game like this. Intense sword fighting game play, special move, LOADS of different units, armies, strategy as you can change posistion, of cavalry, ogres, dragons, etc, etc, and when you feel you've set them up right, you can jump into your hero and start slashing away. Do it.
Finished the game and I didn't like it. The game's repetitive, the fighting is clumsy and slow. Don't wanna spoil too much but the final boss and the ending were both disappointing. The massive armies were impressive but lose their touch when you get to the final battle. You don't get new kinds of troops that would really refresh your interest in the game. This game could have been so much more...
@FredThaSlayer Weren't the vikings mainly from the 700's to about 1000's when they were defeated by England if i'm not mistaken... But i'm definitely sure they weren't really around in the 1300's and 1400's

Viking is a hack'n slash with some RPG elements, while Fallout 3/Oblivion are more RPG than anything else. They get kinda boring to play because you spend so much time managing your inventory and skills that it gets kinda boring for me personally, but still great games. Viking is supposed to be fighting, not talking.

Been playing this game for the last 3 days. Got it from NewEgg for 10 bucks.
Game has me pretty addicted, unlike Dragon Age which I set down after a half dozen hours. Lopping off limbs and heads doesn't get old. Game deserves an "8" at the least. Hidden gem here.
Although I like the fantasy in the game, (like to fight ogres and various other monsters instead of humans), the dragons are a bit too much. It looks like a version of LotR with those dragons flying around. That pretty much destroys the epic fights.
And last but not least; what the fuck kind of viking sneaks?! That's like the opposite of being a viking! In with the berserks instead!
this is one of those games that if your bored, and just want to play a really fun game.. this game does have some boring repetitive stuff. but its a really good game with lots of gameplay.

@EbayFigureReviews777 Dude, if you want a game with fallout 3 or oblivion elements, then viking was TOTALLY the wrong direction to head to. Viking is a hack'n slash with some RPG elements, while Fallout 3/Oblivion are more RPG than anything else. They get kinda boring to play because you spend so much time managing your inventory and skills that it gets kinda boring for me personally, but still great games. Viking is supposed to be fighting, not talking.

Been playing this game for the last 3 days. Got it from NewEgg for 10 bucks.
Game has me pretty addicted, unlike Dragon Age which I set down after a half dozen hours. Lopping off limbs and heads doesn't get old. Game deserves an "8" at the least. Hidden gem here.

I mean, who the fuck wants to play as a shaved viking? The majestic, huge beards are a major part in what makes a viking!
Also, his limbs are a bit too fat. Plus why the fuck has he got his hair in a ponytail?! He looks like a fucking whimp!

Although I like the fantasy in the game, (like to fight ogres and various other monsters instead of humans), the dragons are a bit too much. It looks like a version of LotR with those dragons flying around. That pretty much destroys the epic fights.
And last but not least; what the fuck kind of viking sneaks?! That's like the opposite of being a viking! In with the berserks instead!
3/10 before playing it.

this is one of those games that if your bored, and just want to play a really fun game.. this game does have some boring repetitive stuff. but its a really good game with lots of gameplay.

actually no the only thing that the ps3 has that is better is a blueray player but thats also quite useless u got a hdtv and its almost the same but ps does have a hardrive that can be replaced by other ones unlike the xbox which has a custom one needed id say there equally matched and it depends on personal prefurence (forgive my spelling)

yes the ps3 console IS better..but personally i like the graphics as much as the 360 but the 360 has better games..the price doesn't matter..altough 600 dollars was allittlebit overboard..it 400 now as everyone knows..games cost like 60 euros play for a week and you ant a new one so it doesnt matter..conclusion the 360 has better online and games..but its a good thing to have both consoles..

ps3 is better but its definitely not worth it, its almost twice as much as a 360 and for nothing extra, xbox wont break as long as you take care of it hmmm go figure, 360 has more games that are better like halo and fable, and graphics dont really matter as long as you're not playing as a stick figure, the only thing that ps3 has that is worth it is free online play.

personally I loved fable 1 and I'm getting fable 2 next week.. I used to love my old ps2, but there just werent good enough games to keep me playing.. so I got me a xbox instead.. and I still play with my original huge ass xbox quite often.. I loved GT & r&t on the ps2, but I prefer car games.. thus, the xbox wins.. forza is just simply magnificient..

wheres your proof of gta 5 being exclusive? rockstar hasnt even started talking about gta 5 yet, and when it does come out its gonna be multiplatform. gta 4 sold extremely well on 360 and rockstar arent just gonna ignore the multi millions a 360 or pc version is gonna make them, its buisness, rockstar are smart and they know they can make three times the money by releasing multiplatform than just releasing on ps3. and they arent getting any funding from sony, so multiplatform is a given

I really really liked fable 1, 2 was just a disgrace and I read 3 won't even have regular rpg elements like exp points or health bars because retards complained it was too complicated, not to mention the game looks exactly like fable 2 graphically...
