The Peugeot 206 RC (GTI 180) is quicker than the Mini Cooper S, with better braking and IMO better handling.  I also prefer the styling (interior and exterior)

I had the choice between the Mini and the 206 and I bought the Peugeot (I actually have a GTI 180 as I'm English)

Yes the mini is English (like me) and usually French cars are shit but the GTI 180 (RC) is beautifully made as its the top of the range model, I've owned mine over 2 years now and the only work required was 2 new tyres

Its interesting to note that the new peogeot 207 gt/rallye and gti/rc (not 206) have the same engine as the new coopers s. the gt/rallye produces 150bhp with 240Nm torque, while gti/rc produces 175bhp...same as the cooper s. 207 range has impoved a lot since the 206 in everyway. I own a 207 gt/rallye. I love it. But cooper s is probably a more solid quality car. Both are enjoyable. I beleive the 206 rc 2.0L engine is outdated and the handeling wasn't all that flash in comparison to the 207 range

Aparte del motor/caja gasolina de 180cv y la cosmética RC, este 206 tiene reglajes de geometría totalmente distintos, rótulas uniball, ruedas sport, barras estabilizadoras más gordas, muelles y amortiguadoresd más rigidos, un equipo de frenos mucho mejor.. Suficiente para considerarlo casi "otro" coche y no un utilitario diesel corriente y moliente.

el mini cooper es mas caro por que es un auto ingles fabricado en inglaterra y si te subis a un mini y despues a un 206, te vas a dar cuenta que el mini tiene mejor calidad de terminacion.

Sin embargo los 2 autos son una verga, como cite en el ejemplo anterior.

Por eso hay tan pocos 206RC por la poca relacion precio/producto. Aunque tenga un 2.0 turocomprimido y toda la gilada,vos pones un RC y un 1.9D nacional alado y son el mismo auto, eso es indiscutible.

Sobre gustos no hay nada esrito, pero gastar 80.000 pesos en un 206 que es lo que costaba en su momento, es delirante.

The Cooper S is, by far, a much better car than a 206RC. Besides, I'm not sure that the 'lion sochalien' (yep, I'm french, toi aussi peut-être?) would like to be nicknamed 'a Pug'. I drove a 206Rc and I currently own a Cooper S (R56) : the 206Rc felt more ... more alive, but was poorly made and not quicker (at least not in a straight line), as for the fuel consumption : the 206 was awful!! + in 16" wheels, the Mini was the most confortable!

No te imagines nada wey, porque te lo imaginas mal !! No solo soy propietario de un 206, lo compré de contado y soy miembro del Club Peugeot México. Tal vez el 206 sea de los modelos mas económicos de la Peugeot, pero es el modelo más vendido en toda su historia, no compares un Chevy y un Pointer con un 206 que tiene un equipamiento y confort superior a los autos de su clase. Estoy seguro que el Chevy y el Pointer no tienen cierre de seguros automático en rodaje, ni sensor de lluvia ni de lúces.
