  • I have played two PAL games on my NTSC system and they played normal speed. PAL games were Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Bart vs. The Space Mutants.Of course it's fairly easy to get NTSC NES games on Ebay-even from some UK sellers.

  • @TrueDarkNesa: I got mine from gametronex but they don't seem to sell the PAL version anymore. Maybe it has been discontinued? Check Hyperkin's site (they are the manufacturer) and maybe drop them an email?

  • Where did you get a PAL FC Mobile? I've searched Amazon UK, and can't find it anywhere.

  • Hi,

I have the same unit and the same problem with my pal games. But did you know that when you connect it to the tv it will play you're games at the correct speed. Strange isn't it?

    Regards

  • @goemon74 Yeah that is strange!? I never bothered plugging it into the TV, I just sent it back. Maybe the NOAC (Nes-on-a-chip) is set up wrong - so that it outputs 50hz through the composite-out and 60hz (or whatever) when played through the unit directly?

  • @cyclone5uk But still do you recommend the ntsc version over this pal version if I have a big library of pal games? Or do I need to rely on emulation on dingoo, ds, or psp te play my old nes games?

  • @goemon74 Yeah you're better off with the NTSC version, as at least it'll play some of your PAL games at correct (NTSC) speed. So far based on my collecting and testing of roms I would say maybe 30-40% of PAL games will play play fine.

  • so will the ntsc version actual play your pal games, how do they look if so

  • @MrThejoff Yeah my NTSC version plays my PAL games and they look okay - but some of them run too fast. This is because PAL games run slower than NTSC games (50hz instead of 60hz), EXCEPT where the programmers actually sped up the code on the PAL game to make it run the same speed it did on an NTSC console.

So when I play an un-enhanced PAL game on the FC Mobile II it runs it at the same speed it would an NTSC cart. But the enhanced carts play too fast.

  • @cyclone5uk Thanks for the reply first off. Could you please give me an exampleo of an enhanced and un-enhanced game because i'm very interested in this machine but like you am in a PAL region, would you say it would be better to go for the ntsc version?

  • @MrThejoff The so called PAL version is useless. The NTSC one will play maybe 40% of PAL games correctly. The rest will have sped-up music. Examples of some enhanced PAL titles: Super Mario Bros, Legend Of Zelda, Mega Man 4. Some un-enhanced titles: Mega Man 2, Duck Tales, Double Dragon. The un-enhanced titles are the ones that will play correctly on the FC Mobile II.

  • @cyclone5uk Thanks for that mate. Thats all a bit disappointing i'll just have to save my $65 until they get the thing right. I couldn't handle playing the legend of zelda if it wasn't playing the way it was meant to.
