RGY Laser Light Show Projector

OK, hope this isn't the dumbest question ever hatch (), but there's some sort of fog or smoke in the air, ne? That's why the beams are visible from the side. Am I right, or am I way the hell off?

I'm interested in lasers visible from the side, because of a little idea of my own. Well, OK, a little idea of Malcolm Jameson's that I'm wanting to make real.

the colors? the laser system mixes them together..you can just buy a red one and green and you will have a yellow laser light show

couldn't you just get a video of a bunch of lights and put it through a projector, put smoke in the air, and there you go?

Well, yes and no. While their are standard light projectors at clubs and you can use video projectors to produce patterns in smoke a laser is way cooler. Why? Because laser beam has virtually no divergence compared to a normal light source. It's hard to see in this video because of the short distance but check out the other video's I have where the camera is 300-500 feet away. You can't do that with just any light source and still produce a pencil thin beam of intense light at that distance.

..how are you getting it to project white? ive never seen an RGY do that before.

Its to do with the video camera and the camera's white balance. The white you're seeing is actually yellow. You can't make white without blue.

It just appears white because of the camera and video compression. The software is just a sound activated program board. I have better software on the way.
